The upgrades will only occur at grounds that service more than rugby league and in a swinging seat.Mate, there is heaps of money to go around for social welfare and for infrastructure. If RL is going to benefit by Governments building stadiums for us in any city in Australia, let's take it. Our competitors have no qualms taking the money and getting new or upgraded grounds.
That would be true if Manly were one of two Sydney clubs and played 10 of their games at the new SFS and two at their local ground
The Fri 6pm game would be the best time slot for games at Dolphin Oval.
They have stated that the majority of their games will be at Suncorp. After this year (due to the Women's soccer), it will be 10 at Suncorp. Commercial realities will demand it. You can't compete with the Broncos and the other NRL teams playing half your games at Redcliffe and Sunny Coast stadiums in their current state / capacity, when you have Suncorp available for members and corporates.
With regards to their being a modern 25 - 30k stadium at Redcliffe in the future. I actually think that is the plan and it's the correct plan. Again, Brisbane only has two teams, maybe three in the future and they are being spread around so that they have their own market. Redcliffe averaging 20 - 25k at a new Dolphin Oval and their drawing 50k to derby matches against Broncos and Firehawk-Jets (based in the south-west with their own 25-30k stadium in Ipswich or Springfield) at Suncorp is perfect and would make them one of the most attended teams in the league as well as giving them their own identity as the team for North Brisbane / Moreton Bay (which is also when the geographical name will return officially).
I spoke to the Dolphins' department about their stadium. They said there's no plans to expand or upgrade it.
