Might just be the case that it’s not worth knocking down the eastern stand because a brand new one wouldn’t be that much better than putting a better roof and corporate facilities in the current one given that it’s not that old. You want to get the most out of your $$.Shame $300mil only gets a new stand and a refurb'd eastern stand in today's money.
You'd honestly think $300mil would cover 2 completely brand new stands.
That is it, it will be a very good club ground and better than what they have now but that is it, it is still very underwhelming to what it could have been had the cards fell their way with the paceway site and more funding. It’ll be a very good club ground, looks a bit like Hunter Stadium.
And it’ll be big enough for any concerts or events that want to base themselves in Penrith (not throwing shade - anything that can get a bigger crowd is going to want to be in a more central location).
I remember when i first went out to Penrith many many years ago parts of it was still an STD call back to the city, so at the time maybe not so Sydney lol.As in it hosts an NRL team? Yes very Sydney

They say a refurbishment but it is effectly a new stand. The bottom tier is the same (but likely refurbished) but the top tier and all of the facilities (food/toilets etc) will be brand new. Look at the high res renders 2 pages back. The east top tier has a much higher rake than the existing top tier and goes beyond the dead ball line both north and south compared to the bottom tier (see the top down render)Shame $300mil only gets a new stand and a refurb'd eastern stand in today's money.

The Panthers will finish the current season in the existing stadium and next year will plan to play their home games in a variety of venues, including nine games at Commbank Stadium, one in Mudgee one in Bathurst and one in Las Vegas, Fletcher said.
What $300m in renovations means for the Panthers
The Penrith Panthers have announced a significant upgrade of their stadium, but are fans getting bang from over 300 million bucks?www.smh.com.au
And Bears would have survived if not axedPeople underestimate history in the game
Sure, 3k extra seats for $309mill, absolute bargain! Is 25k big enough for $309 million?
