The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

My point is, outside of cricket circles his name isn't that well known. Similar to your argument that Cronin was just a Parramatta legend (which he wasn't)

Not changing it was the right call, just like keeping the Cronin stand in the new Parramatta stadium.

How many fifteen year old Parra fans know who Mick Cronin is do you think?

This is why stands need to be named in perpetuity.

I agree. Mick Cronin 's a legend, a Parra and RL legend. In a ground built in 1986, the year he retired. If I'm WSW, hiring the ground from NSW govt, I want a clean stadium.

Well that Stadium was demolished

Just like the old Sheridan Stand was demolished

The new SCG stand did not keep the orginal name

Rename grandstands unless the name still resonates with the majority of asses sitting in the seats e.g. Bradman.

Simple really.

Welcome to the Justin Beiber Stand.

Thankfully you're in the minority & fans of other teams don't demand the same.

There's been a chip on the WSW's shoulder the minute they came into existence.

Classic siege mentality stuff.

Great example of the inward thinking of the wanderers is spotless stadium.

Rather than use the opportunity to grow their brand & take some home games to proper rectangular grounds, they decided to play at an oval.

Their average at spotless stadium was about 10k people, well down on normal. Overall average was only good because for the first time they took derbies to ANZ.

In fact 40 % of their entire season attendance came from the derbies.
