Well that Stadium was demolished

Just like the old Sheridan Stand was demolished

The new SCG stand did not keep the orginal name

The new SCG stand did, the second newest didnt.

But the story of the Doug Walters stand is a bit more complicated than normal. It was never officially named at first, fans named it in his honour & the SCG trust eventually followed through.

They should've kept it as the Doug Walters stand, at least the eastern part of it.

We could name a food court in honour of Carl Webb.......

Or a toilet block in honour of Michael Bani.

Was going to suggest Glenn Morrison, but he already has one named after him at Leichhardt Oval. Well till security made them taken the sign down anyway.

Yeah, it was originally just concrete terracing but a group of fans brought a sheet with 'The Doug Walters Stand' on it for years so the trust eventually made it official.

A bar is much more appropriate for Doug anyway!
