Dragons should play 9 in Wollongong and 3 at the SFS.

Games against Sharks, Roosters and Rabbitohs would draw a good crowd at the SFS.

Sharks should play the Dragons, Roosters and Rabbitohs at the SFS.
For,once we agree lol,

I’d throw parra in there as well, then reciprocal memberships for 3 of those games (not sharks due to sht capacity of their stadium).

Big crowds and Sydney dragons fans get a 7 game membership all in Sydney’s modern stadia. Maybe even include bulldogs, then it’s an 8 game membership. With 7 games at a redeveloped win.

or drop sharks and play them at win for a 4 game Allianz program with all games reciprocal for members. 8-4 split.

Tigers should be playing their games at Campbelltown and Parramatta Stadium.

Tvl council donated the land, not the state gov. Probably worth 1/100th of the plot of land Suncorp sits on but do go on...... NQ fans, much like Newy's, prove time and time again they punch well above their weight attendance wise even when they're going utterly shitful.

I 100% have sympathy for fans of Sydney clubs with shitbox grounds, I played for Moorebank in my teens when I first moved to Sydney and Belmore was where we played all our finals games and it was shit in the early 90's and not much has changed, I also lived in Sydney during my early 20's when I started working and wherever NQ played in NSW I would attend so I have experienced them all at some stage. Sunny days are fine, but being a winter sport well you know where I am going with it.....

But clubs cannot cry about say Kograh being shitful and then literally 20mins drive away is $800 mil Allianz stadium sitting there idle. Play the appropriate game in the appropriate stadiums.
Obviously play the games at suburban grounds during the day. 15k at lo sure looks a lot better than 20 to 25k at accor

but sure dragons tigers and sharks could take their games vs easts and south’s to allianz to make money and boost the crowd average

Hi BOR :)

A very interesting debate that one,
My personal opinion first, definitely move back to the SFS.
- Next to our heartland
- A drink and feed at Juniors then on the tram to the game, it will work so well for anyone living in south eastern suburbs. My fathers family is from Maroubra/Mascot so its perfect for anyone coming to games from Souths heartland.
- Our COE is in our heartland aesthetically works well training and playing close by.
- Would attract more of the "event/hipster" crowd going back to the SFS. Only diehards show up for run of the mill games at Accor now.
- Of course the state of art stadium as far as viewing and corporate facilities go.
- Last but not least the surrounding area around the SFS, plenty of pubs and nice places to get a feed and make a day of going out to the footy. Not a wasteland like the Olympic park (Olympic park is getting better dho).

In saying that the club would know the real figures and locations off the membership/Season ticket base. If its a case of redeveloped Accor with proper sight-lines and a club mode of 45K. It maybe an argument of Accor being in the center of Sydney and being closest to attract to the majority of the population. However only a redeveloped Accor into a proper rectangular stadium will suffice.

Your last suggestion was something that was talked about on Souths forum too. Since both stadiums are under the same organisation it could potentially be a workable solution of playing at both grounds. In our box at Vegas we had the head of hospitality of the SFS with us. Did ask him and he would love to have Souths back at the SFS but problem is the lack of use of Accor not to mention Solly signing us up at Accor.

Let's see what happens, always rumours of work going on behind the scenes to get us back. However if Accor did get redeveloped think Souths management would prefer to stay closer to heart of Sydney than moving back to the heartland IMO.
I'm watching the moves of the Tigers very closely. Richo knows he can get a dollar or two to play out of Homebush and if he's successful and moves the Tigers there for some of their home games, it may make our move back to Allianz even easier.

It was mentioned at the last AGM there was currently a gap in the Allianz deal being offered to us. However, the premium pricing used by the Roosters for games against us and also the Dragons shows that most people are going to pay to go to the games so I can see that gap closing.

If we were to move there, our game against the Roosters would be packed and depending on what the club does with our indigenous game (our home game at Allianz last year against the Eels was one of the highest home crowds in Sydney in the last 10 years outside of Good Friday), this could be another money spinner. The game is scheduled for Indigenous Round again this year (venue TBA, but we know that means Allianz).

I'm not sure if the Good Friday game against the Dogs would fare at Allianz though. We got 35k this year and both clubs aren't doing well.

The Easter Show game shouldn't move. It's one of the only things that works at that shithole

State Government starts feasibility study about building $300m roof over Sydney’s biggest venue
Accor Stadium could soon come with a $300m roof as tenants such as South Sydney and Canterbury-Bankstown are approached to ask for feedback on the state government’s plan.

While a roofed stadium would be great for atmosphere and limiting the effect on attendances during wet weather, I still believe the money is better spent on making accor rectangular.

And if it gets a $300M roof then you can kiss goodbye to a knockdown rebuild and any rectangularisation will most likely be on the cheap and only bring in the end stands rather than the complete internal rebuild proposed a couple years ago.

f**k all benefit to NRL whilst it remains the same shape, Dogs & Souths should say they’ll be changing venues at first chance if it remains an oval.

Agree on the rectangular being better
I wonder what you could get for $300m e.g. rectangular field with better coverage - though assume they want the roof as much for concerts as for sporting events

For 300M not much good could be done to the majority of the stadium. At most a rebuild of the ground level, at worst only bringing the ends in closer with the same shallow stands and sideline the same.
Also I imagine that brand new 100 metre long screen at the southern end would be redundant if that were to happen so any money not spent on a proper rebuild in the next ten years is a giant waste imo.

And a non retractable roof costing 300M seems bad value for money too considering the stadium is already engineered to have a roof.

We need to be pragmatic. Outside of Penrith getting a renovation, it's unlikely that NSW government will find any stadium rebuilt / upgrade for the foreseeable future. Thus, NRL should take this upgrade as there's unlikely to be any horse trading / redirection of funds to other stadia.

Agreed, I am all for a roof at accor but also realise that would kill any rebuild for 20 to 30 years.
If the NRL welcomes it than they kind of lose the leverage of selling the GF and would look greedy pushing for further upgrades there or at suburban grounds.
