right?

you haven't been right once
hahaha
Very interesting conversation going on but this bit confuses me. @M2D2 said it wasn't built for rectangular sports which it wasn't. They have to cover the track to make it work and you just repeated that soccer played there.
Youre the one who hasnt been right once. You just keep going to AFL Stooge. Or ABC Flog. Or Luke Foley lover every time you get rekt.
You poor dumb f**k.

Edit: On that note. Your meltdown is complete. You have nothing. Off to ignoreland you go.

No its not walking distance from cbd, but is 5min one stop train ride and enough within walking distance that there will be plenty of food and drink options before and after game. It is a great spot perched on the banks of the Swan and is very impressive when driving down Graham Farmer Freeway. Cant wait to see the Dbl Header there in March.
Like I said, not CBD, and yes like walking or catching a train to CBD and then getting to Moore Park or a Bus to Gabba after a Kebab first.

Not far Hell even Lang Park is one Burb out.

So what happens to the WACA? and the stuff around it?

Is closer.

Fugged up by VFL is my bet.

Oh look, another AFL related insult.
ooohh I can go there.

Firstly you call it AFL. VICTORIA is in Australia, is not Australia. Simply the worst state.

It is VFL, a disease and disgrace to our country, very much a disease that seems prevalent is the state Victoria and South Australia. Need a fence really. The rabbit proof fence did not stop Victorians invading.

A disease, that WA has some discomfort , and a related strain of disease in Ireland.

Tried at a foothold in other states, but only so many Victorians migrated with the evil, viral, putrid stain of a disease call VFL.

Did you get beaten for being from Cronulla and following VFL?

This is such a stupid argument.
Whether Stadium Oz was or wasn't originally a multi purpose stadium is irrelevant. (For the facts, it always has been because it's never been properly rectangular).
Ultimately, it needs to be rectangular, and it needs to be as soon as practicably possible.

For the record, here is a proper rectangular stadium.

It even has a roof and holds over 70 000.
This is the type of stadium that Sydney needs.

Yeh. There was an Olympic soccer tournament played on it in 2000. Therefore, it wasn't multi-purpose!!
What a stupid f**king argument that was, by the most stupid aggressive person on this forum.
that wasn't my argument

the AFL troll said it wasn't designed for rectangular sports yet there had been numerous RL, RU and Soccer games played on it before it was reconfigured which proved him wrong

AFL could not be played on it until after it was made multi purpose in 2002

It might be a good thing if NSW f##ks it up and doesn't do ANZ, then their contract with the NRL would be null and void and if the NRL has any sense about them they'd use it as a opportunity to show everybody not to screw around with them and sell the GF to the highest bidder for the next 25 years.

The NRL has desperately needed to show a lot of people for a long time that they wont just bend over and take it from them, but they haven't had the balls to do it, this might just end up being the time when they have no choice but to stand up and make NSWgov pay for screwing them around and send a warning to everybody else that attempts to do the same from now on.

So even if we don't get ANZ rebuilt we'd still get a win of sorts cause the NRL would be forced to flex their muscles and make the NSWgov pay for f##king them around, and that'd be a very good thing for the sport in this country especially if it lead to them telling a few other people to either tow the line or get f##ked as well.
Yeah, good luck with all that.

Thats all you can do right?
Lol. Throw insults around. Because its clear to see that you derail after the facts arent on your side.
When someone brings up the fact that AFL regular season games got a higher attendance average than NRL regular seasons game, nah has nothing to do with facts that prove as far as SAG is concerned it was a good business idea. Nah, That person must love AFL. Even when they havent gone to an AFL game in this millenium and has only been to one game EVER, yet went to 20+ NRL games last season.
who the hell are you arguing with?

Reading some of the replies in the SMH is appears most believe the SCG trust is some sort of private company and has nothing to do with the state government.. " Why is the state government giving money to the SCG trust ?"

There seems to be a well organised campaign on the SMH comments site against the stadium spend... No doubt NSW Labor types will be reading with interest...

In my opinion.. the rebuild of Allianz is a step too far and not needed in the short term on top of the spend on Parramatta and ANZ...

If you buy the argument that we need a 70,000 modern stadium to ensure that Sydney doesn't miss out on overseas sporting events and concerts to the other capital cities, then why do we need shiny new 40,000 Allianz again? Seems to me to be very much a political decision that has benefited some influential people sitting on the board of the SCG Trust and few others...
