The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Still think this will backfire massively on the NSW government if the NRL do go through with their threat. The other states are going to offer big money for the GF and once the NRL tastes that gravy train it will be hard to convince them to go back.

Eventually they'll have to build new stadiums anyway and they'll have lost one of their big showpiece matches.

The NRL will still have a strong big match presence in NSW with SOO too.

The Nrl could do a number of things. Play hard ball, just let the issue play out, give up or offer an alternative. Playing hard ball will almost always end up bad. But offering an alternative definitely has merit.

The gov doesn’t really make money out of Anz currently and they tender almost everything out. The events from Anz make the money for the nsw economy. That being the case, if the issue revolves around the cost-benefit ratio, why wouldn’t the Nrl step in at that point? Force the nsw gov to commit to a price for Allianz and then the rest on Anz to reach the cost-be fit ratio of 1.00000000001 to suit the restart nsw funding. If that means that Nrl have to kick in $100mil so be it, but on the proviso that a extra couple of residential/business buildings can be built on the site next to the stadium to further improve the precinct (to recoup Nrl costs).

Nsw gets there 3 stadiums
Ayers gets what he and his trust mates want
Nsw gov gets access to the funding
Nsw gov can justify cost to public due to cost-benefit analysis
And the Nrl gets a stadium for 50 plus games for free every year for the life of the stadium.

The example will no doubt be highly unlikely but the Nrl needs to be proactive and make the best out of the current situation. They can say no but could also say yes.

Sounds good but the NRL doesn't have $100mill to kick in, Todd has spent the reserve fund.

f**k it, play hardball I say.

Brisbane/QLD gov will be rubbing its hands together in anticipation of a bid.

As someone who lives in Brisbane, moving the GF here will make my life easier but I personally love going down to Sydney every year. No matter what dickheads up here say, Sydney is the home of our game and the NSW gov needs to f**king pony up for the stadium.

Look I’m sure there is a ways to fund $100mil or whatever amount, when there could be a business case for multi-million dollar revenue opportunity.

There has been proposals for mass unit developments with restaurants and nightlife etc.

https://www.businessinsider.com.au/...nto-a-massive-residential-development-2016-10

Some clubs have major developments happening now. Developing revenue streams is what’s needed. As a code that brings 90% of the fans to Anz it seems reasonable that we try to get the revenue generated in the immediate precinct.

Get a couple of big development companies to put drawings together to show nsw gov.

Was the State of Origin in Adelaide announcement today a veiled Shot across the bow of the NSW state Government or was it always timed for today?

Perhaps the Titans and Knights ownership ATT played its part.Your Toddy had little to do with those dramas.

Funny how there has been no mention of a recoup of these funds spent on the bail out clubs. Wasn't the sale of them supposed to put the money back in the kitty?

NSW Govt opened itself wide open to critics when it decidedto do two major stadium builds in one hit, especially as there is very very little public support for Allianz getting such a massive amount of $'s for a full rebuild. No one is complaining about parra stadium because it makes sense. I doubt they would have complained about ANZ, especially when all the media was on how amazing the new Perth stadium was. Doing Allianz though is a real shot in the foot. Pretty dumb politics.

Every year now.

2018 MCG
2019 Perth
2020 Adelaide

Probably netted the NRL in excess of $15-20million in moving those games. It interesting that originally it was only going to be potentially every 2-3 years a game would be moved out of NSW or Qland yet we have ended up with 3 years in a row. Good business by the NRL!

Funny I suggest you read the media reports ATT.EG the price the Titans were sold at, was less than offered by the other buyer fromm the GC.Reason being the previous directors(Frizelle etc) had the knowledge ,experience and local knowhow to in the end offer a firmer result.
The sale to Wests Newcastle included the development of a Cof E mainly finance by that big local League club, with the financial power and local knowledge to do a decent job of it.
There will be money put in the kitty but not the large amounts the media was carrying on about prior.
Money is being repaid by the Dragons and Tigers.
Let's wait for the financials this year, instead of your usual wetting your strides before you drink.

I did not agree with the SFS expenditure ,so I don't know where you got that idea.I was more than happy with the ANZ rebuild and a facelift improvement for the SFS.
Spend a couple of hundred mil on SFS and use the other $500m for hospitals or making the Pacific Hgy dual all the way.
