Would still like to know what they’re doing here

The top bit of that is gonna have some shit sight lines, but there seems there is no mounting points on the steel for the pre fab concrete rakers so maybe the big screens are going in there somewhere??

The pic and the graphic dont match up mate. The graphic it looks like the corporate suites extend a bit further along more on that top tier than what they ended up in reality.

Yes, true. I was going to mention that.
I suppose we just need to wait for the finished product.
In my post #7903, the 2nd pic shows the framework being installed in the North East corner, as opposed to the north west corner of your yellow circled pic.
It seems they have made "some changes" on the run.
Although, in some of the original documents/designs, the screen is exactly where it is meant to be.
See below......

It's probably too late now..

17 years of 20% filled stadiums has killed a generation perceptions of nrl

It's never too late. The Tv ratings indicate great interest in the game, and SOO.If the Gnats from nowhere can secure a stadium after being here 5 minutes, then Nrl clubs should have the same privilege.

If the NRL had any idea.. they would of been fully involved with the design and planning of stadium Australia from the get go

The NRL were the only sporting body in the world that was ever going to have enough content to make stadium Australia a viable stadium post the Olympics..

Soon as Olympics was over it should have been totally reconfigured to rectangle with club mode etc of 30k and 70k grandfinal mode .

This would have been finished in 2003 and by now we would have had 15 years of good atmosphere games.. and related infrastructure would have popped up all over the precinct by now

You must remember design was in the era of of the SL war and the game had other things on its mind! After Olympics game was still rebuilding and had two ineffective owners and a muppet called Moffat in charge so no wonder we had zero influence on its design outcomes.

WSS is supposed to be ready for the 2019 season. Not sure about ANZ but the last thing hosted at Allianz is a Michael Buble concert on Oct 5th so I assume the knockdown will begin not long after that.

Cheers, looks tight to be ready for start of 2019 season? Just had a look and they reckon anz is supposed to be started in 2019 but no mention what time of year. Have they finalised it’s plans yet!

There was talk around 1994 of the ARL funding the building of stadium Australia. Something happened in 1995 that caused the ARL to blow all their money and those plans were scrapped.

media rights deals in 1994 were worth about 40 million a year & while the game wasn't broke , it wasn't flush with cash either
so how were they going to fund a venue that ended up costing nearly a billion dollars to build exactly ?

after the 2019 GF has been played ANZ's development will begin , so October or November Id say
Allianz before the end of this year
2 GFs at the SCG in 2020 & 2021
one at the new Allianz in 2022 & a return to ANZ for the start of the 2023 season

I have no knowledge of the situation but I would guess partial funding for ownership rights 10-20years down the track much like the AFL and Docklands.
