The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Interestingly the new design is the same architect who designed the current SFS. Or at least the firm he owns. (Cox Architects)

I remember a few months ago him bitching about them tearing down his stadium..

Let’s hope they get this one right.

My feeling is it’s been ditched. I think we would’ve seen something in the artists impression.

The clubs that use this stadium should’ve pushed really hard for that.

That design doesn’t rule it out. Curtains coming down over the top deck won’t obscure the lights, screens or corporates if done properly.

design wise it doesnt look all that different from what’s already there imo

It kinda does. Hard to tell from those pics but it looks like the sideline stands peak higher in the middle? Same as the old SFS and ANZ. It must be a Sydney look.

Hopefully that roof sufficiently protects spectators. The old one was supposed to but didn't.

Looks like the gradient has improved, maybe. Steep stands are probably too dangerous for the Nanny State Government.

Oh well, who cares. If it's shit we can just knock it down and try again in 15 years.

I’m certain the gradient has improved, it’ll likely be the same as WSS. Which has the steepest in Australia.

Hmmm

Looks like it has the gaps under the roof problem as the SFS

Also is league central still there ?

Do you mean the inner panels of the roof?

These are see through to allow sunlight in for the grass growth, similar thing at WSS.

You can also see a similar thing on the MA noble stand in the bottom of the picture.

Has he learnt about the concepts of driplines yet? Lets hope so! Looks a nice design, modern and pleasing.

lol "This stadium will kick [Queensland's] Suncorp Stadium into reserve grade," Mr Ayres said. Good to see Sydney catching up to little old Brisbane 20 years later.

Given the pictures it looks to me like most seats are covered

Also the original roof wasn’t his fault, they ran out of money and had to modify.

By looking at the aerial shot from that video (1:10 onwards), I'd say that the front seats aren't covered by the roof. Even more would be exposed when wind is considered. Might be different in real life though. That video production looks cheap af.

And they forgot to add the bar and food lines in. They will still be bad.
