Supposed to be completed for 2022Is the SFS a viable option come 2023, given its current state?

The AFL did the same thing here with Docklands. Was supposed to be 35k - 40k and rectangular and they chipped in and it became 56k and oval. Like ANZ, the playing field is too small for AFL and too big for RL/soccer. One size fits none. It is as popular here as ANZ is there. Its why the stadium wasn’t properly reconfigured after the Olympics. The plan was to bring the seating in closer to the playing field but the AFL campaigned today play there too, so instead it took on the configuration it has today. Then they left.
So we could have already had a far greater stadiums for League etc.
So what if they play the occasional game there down the track. They have their own branded stadium already so it won’t be many. How does that affect RL? Why the panic? The AFL have always wanted the option of playing there. GWS will play some games there down the track. You watch.

Time to get those rectangular fields upgraded https://www.news.com.au/sport/footb...d/news-story/a5c598306cfe97fd7157799e72441dc2

AFLX was the biggest joke of a concept.
We went to one of the days at Allianz and all sat there drinking beer for an hour waiting for each other to say this is shit let's go to the pub.

You can’t blame the AFL for trying all of this. Blame lies with the governments who agreed.
I went to a Storm Dragons game there in 2010. Was close to full, and we were sitting up high. It was ok enough but yeah it had an ANZ type feel to it, apart from the roof.
One thing I was really impressed with was the beer taps. They were pouring 6 at a time, not the messy single guns that some antiquated stadium bars use. The punters were in and out quick smart, and well-oiled without missing too much game time. A highly important factor, but sadly under-appreciated, in what a great stadium needs.
those were the seatpissers seats, stained ones, needed replacing,Weren’t the grey seats just transplanted from the lower bowl of the western stand so that the whole lower bowl was the one pattern once the stadium was finished?
Yes we have had those beer taps at stadiums here in Victoria since the 1990s, maybe earlier. It amazes me how long it takes to get a beer at sport in NSW and Qld. Not just the the single taps, Why do you have to queue, order, them wait? At the MCG they continually pour beers, you just walk up grab your beers (no queue), then go to checkout. Two minutes tops, even at half time. Mixers take a bit longer but it is not rocket science. Hopefully this high tech system will be available to you Sydneysiders soon.I went to a Storm Dragons game there in 2010. Was close to full, and we were sitting up high. What is bizarre is that at AAMI Park, they have the NSW system for food & bev of queuing, then ordering your drink, then waiting, it is as if the stadium designers have only ever been to rectangular venues in NSW. Such an expensive stadium yet simple systems to improve the game day experience have not been implemented.I remember I was impressed by those taps when I went to a game at the MCG (thought I’d try a Melbournian experience) in the mid 90s. You know how to look after the punters down there. The game sucked btw.
Nah. Training base only. York Park Launceston is the venue and a strange one to choose. Playing field even bigger than MCG. About 15k seating. 5k standing.football world cup, Devonport, Tasmania has been mentioned as a venue

I was thinking if we want to really put Parramatta on the map and start to get domestic international visitors coming in then build something like this in Parra. Add the Powerhouse museum and all the other builds and Stadium and we start to look like a real modern and must go to city for many peoples traveling itinerary. Also the move of the Powerhouse museum is around $1B so this isn't that far off and I would argue way more exciting and alluring overall.
But the point is we need something really dynamic to catapult Parra into an International attention grabbing destination. Once you have that everything else as far as big money corps and deals will follow. Sure we have some of that already, but nothing that is going to peak the interest of the wider, larger international community or even the local tourist really. The Powerhouse museum is a start, but hardly a massive draw card for the average holiday maker or even other local Sydney siders wanting a day out somewhere in Sydney. But something like this would do it for sure. Especially in the winter months when the beaches are less enticing.
I would try to build it with a massive indoor wave pool or something similar to really bring in the punters from all over the place.
