He used plural “states”, not singular “state”Im fairly sure he only meant WA, the assumption is also Adelaide, but he had never publically said it... but yeah its most likely inferred
Yes, agreed, but in context to expansion that would mean no more future teams in minium of two from WA, SA, VIC, TAS, NT and ACT.... so the two states could be WA and VIC.He used plural “states”, not singular “state”
ICAC will be watching if Panthers get a new stadium before the Dragons. remember NSW taxpayers paid for the panthers centre off excellence . 20 million plus. entertainment centre at leagues club. 50MILLION. PLUS OFFER A NEW STADIUM 300 MILLION.

Yeh let’s make that a criteria for every nrl team. getting rid of a third of the Comp will deepen the player pool lol.Perth an Adelaide don,t deserve a team until there leaders commit to at least a Bankwest type stadium at least 35,000 capacity. then talk expansion
And a NRLW team.In regards to the canberra covoc stadium which absolutely should happen, I believe the key is for Canberra to get an A-League side. That would ensure that between the raiders brumbies and A-League it is tenanted with professional sports year rounds.
Add the existing W-League side as well as the odd concert, local sports GF days eyc. And you have a stadium that will get return on investment.
There's no reason to believe that an A-league side will be the catalyst that gets the new stadium built. In regards to the canberra civic stadium which absolutely should happen, I believe the key is for Canberra to get an A-League side. He’d rather build a church!Roy reckons the change of leadership in NSW gov means any stadium rebuilds are now less likely
Does anyone know where the new guy sits in regards to this? The key difference between NRL and AFL expansion
The NRL’s fortification of Queensland is akin to Trump’s wall, while the AFL’s $200m investment in GWS and the Suns resembles the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative.www.smh.com.au
Surely a monorail is more suited.
well he was the treasurer so he'd know about all the financials of the dealsRoy reckons the change of leadership in NSW gov means any stadium rebuilds are now less likely

I’ve thought for ages the NRL and A League ought to work together on stadium strategy and lobby state governments for funding, presenting on a united front. Year-round usage is a good justifier for investment. In regards to the canberra civic stadium which absolutely should happen, I believe the key is for Canberra to get an A-League side. And rugby union TBH.
Look at the new SFS, roosters, waratah and Sydney FC as marquee tenants is a pretty compelling case for the government to invest. That is approx 35 uses of the stadium each year not including finals. Then you add various international teams, concerts etc. And you have something that is going to be used near on weekly and inject plenty of money in to the local economy.
I believe a similar triumvirate in Canberra would provide a compelling case and do wonders for the city. I know for me personally, I have been to Bruce twice in the 2 years I have been here, one for a chooks game and the other a waratahs game. Put a stadium in the city and I reckon I go to 5+ other events per year just for the socials.
Ideally you would mimic the Moore Park set up and build an oval stadium next door for the cricket and AFL but don't think there is room for that.
