Thought Kogarah may get a guernsey on the back of Syd FC playing their smaller drawing games there as well
Kogarah is not happening, full stop - Sydney FC is full time SFS. Cronulla and Wollongong will get some money each for those respective grounds over Kogarah, rather than a new stadium for the two clubs - that's the political wish in those areas as well, plus that is cheaper.

Unless they are paying a club to play there I'm not sure they have much say. No one should use ANZ, its a terrible stadium for club games.
The say they have is 1. Pay someone to stay & 2. Adjust the speed or order of the new builds.

Just saying they would want to avoid building a new stadium to lead to a lose of all tenants or the last tenant, of ANZ. Just a thought.

Stadium Australia doesn't need a full time tenant. It will still be used often enough for Grand final, big finals matches, origin, and marquee matches like Good Friday. There is enough international content too with Socceroos and Wallabies matches to make it far from a white elephant.

How many times does Wembley get used a year?

Sydney still needs a big rectangular stadium for big rectangular sporting events. ANZ Stadium can be that stadium. Just re-build the f**ker.
Yep, when you add up SOO, finals, Union tests and big soccer matches the demand is there, plus it can be used for concerts. But it also underlines how the ideal is a design that can cater to smaller crowds with the upper tiers closed and not feel like a morgue.

never going to get that intimacy for a 20k crowd with an 80k plus stadium. You can take a 50k stadium down to 20-30k but an 80k stadium is always going to be cavernous. Only way it should be used for NRL games is if NSW govt agree to throw a load of money at having a Sydney double header regularly there on a Sunday and make it an event 4 or 5 times a year and see if you can get 40k plus to it.

True but cant see ANZ being empty all year bar Origin and GF. They could offer Dogs or Souths or both a massive offer to stay put?
They wont, souths are already keen on the new SFS, and smaller venues just look better on TV, regional QLD this year during covid showed that, but of course you want 25k full crowds not 10k park footy, trouble is homebush is what 80k?

I thought I read somewhere Rusty was against leaving ANZ stating it’s situated near where most of their members live these days. Or something along those lines.
