Only logic for Kogorah is they hope Sharks move there. Otherwise it makes zero sense to spend anything on it for 5 games a year. Liverpool, Manly, Penrith. These should be the three priorities in that order.
Exactly, and as a Sharks fan I'm not against moving to a brand new stadium. Can look to sell the stadium land and build a COE and invest etc.

There's a tonne of Sharks fans who won't travel though, even down the road, so needs to be financially incentivising for the club that the decrease in revenue from crowds is covered.

There's not enough of a business case for Kogarah

Dragons are playing 5 games there this year and can't see it going up with them playing at WIN and the odd games at SCG/SFS

Sharks have gone back home and have no intention of going back unless works are happening like now or if they upgrade the stadium.
why
12 games a year at penrith & its 300 mill for them
& its 5 at kogarah for 100 to 150 mill

its about the same

based on that penrith makes even less sense or certainly no more sense ... 300 million for 12 games a year & not much other use
manly , theres some value there with 12 games pa for 100 mill

liverpool.. absolutely.. 24 games for RL alone for 300 mill
but kogarah makes no less sense then penrith

The Penrith Stadium is good for the panthers and the NRL but makes little financial sense for the state government IMO.

Is there any reason to believe it will be used more than 12 times a year? Maybe the Wanderers might have the odd game out there. Apart from that why would the likes of the wallabies, socceroos, Matildas, UFC, boxing, music artists etc. choose the Penrith stadium over the Western Sydney Stadium? I can't think of any good reason why they would.

Compare that with the SFS which will get 30+ events a year with the SCG getting another 20+

Stuart Ayres is the member for Penrith, and is sitting on a slender margin for the 2023 state election to hold his seat. Being a Minister he would be able to bend plenty of ears to get funding for it, especially as he is now deputy leader of the NSW parliamentary Liberal Party.

Yeh I dont disagree, but it seems Penrith is going to get it and could be used for other purposes such as concerts, aleague and some rep games etc as an outer suburb/semi regional centre point.
Ideally St's and Sharks would be joining forces to advocate for a new southern stadium which would be priority alongside Liverpool then , but that doesnt seem to be on the radar for either club.
End of day we should expect to see every NRL club playing in a 25k plus modern venue so whichever gets it first it should be just part of a long term strategy to reach that goal.

Maybe icac will investigate Ayres like they did with Gladys over the Wagga hospital funding. Certainly is porkbarrelling.

I am going to vote again a Panthers stadium. I really just do not want the fans out there to get a new stadium. I prefer Panthers to relocate to Perth. That would be a super club.

Who cares. Like I have said numerous times before, I don't care about return on dollar investment when it comes to rectangular stadiums. It's about we the sporting public getting a bit of cream and fat for once and and being the beneficiaries of Gov largesse. If there is a rort to be had I want us the regular people to get it. Sick of having to make a case for it when Gov officials and all their mates are milking the system continually.

Besides f**k this user pays model we have gone down. Part of Governments role is to build utilities and infrastructure that otherwise aren't economically viable and wear the cost by doing so. It isn't our fault that they keep selling the farm and then cry poor. STOP SELLING OUR ASSETS AND GET BACK OUR RESOURCES YOU ARSEH*LES!

Build 100 rectangular stadiums all over the country. We will only be a better sporting nation for it. Build, Build, build.

I somewhat agree. I actually prefer money spend on stadiums than hospitals (though not schools they should spend big on schools).
I just don't want Penrith getting an upgrade.

That is dumb. Just like the Roosters, the Panthers Leagues Club would not fund the football club if the Penrith Football Club relocated to another city, which would undermine its current financial base. It just ignores the financial realities.

Hospitals and schools should also be getting funding. As should highways, fast trains, dams, power stations etcetera. There is no shortage of money. You and most others just don't get it. Governments stating that there isn't any money is like a builder saying he doesn't have enough inches and feet to build your house.

Like I said. Stop selling the farm. Re-create a peoples bank and start issuing currency at no cost to the tax payer that is backed by the people as collateral. Easy peasy, but they would never do it because it would upset their overlords and while the people stay ignorant they keep getting away with it, while we just keep getting poorer.

I am fine with Leagues clubs being taxed into oblivion.

now if we could put down that piece of pie in the sky for a seconmd & step back into the real world

we don't have a bottomless pitt of money
the stadium project is on a budget & only so much money will be spent ...
to put penrith before liverpool & leave the tigers & dogs playing at inadequate grounds instead of a 1st class rectangle venue is a worry.
I'd like everyone to have new venues too , but that aint gunna happen.

Well if the NRL has their way we will see NRLW become a major drawcard
the awfuls womens comp play to crowds of 2K in cities with much bigger attendance cultures
the nrlw won't have to worry about being too big for existing venues let alone new ones anytime soon.
