new grand stands to go with current ones .... at either end for penrith is all that can be rightly justified for a one tenant ground
same as manly & shark park

maybe penrith leagues should chip in & fund the rest for a brand new ground ?... & take part ownership of the venue, only way a new stadium would or should work there

Will that attract new events though?
Sharks and Manly makes sense for the same reasons, these areas need quality multi purpose venues

Nope it was to have a quality venue for the huge growing population, To save trips into Sydney

Even if they plan to build an indoor arena for concerts etc, Qudos Bank Arena cost $200m for the Sydney Olympics. Double that now
Atleast doing the Stadium gave them a Tennant

They built that for like 7 million but for indoor motor cross

the technology comes from Europe and it’s way cheaper than traditional stadia

You're getting the states/ cities vision mixed up with the NRL's
theres only a limited amount of $$, & Vlandys vision is to get as many clubs playing out of better facilities then they're in now based on the budget on offer ...

If we need entertainment hubs on the cities fringes then the Govt needs to open the coffers & atm , they're not going to do that

So once again Penrith gets penalised because they don’t have a second tenant due to it being a RL heartland!
Who is the second tenant at Brookvale and Cronulla?

The state is almost certain to change government before any of these gets built

The ROI of these stadiums are very poor for NRL alone, More potential for other events. The likely these go ahead

The good thing is it’s only a ten year deal vs 25 before so a great result for rugby league especially as we’ve already had 1.2 billion on new stadia and will get around 150 to 200 million funding clubs centre of excellence

Vlandys needs to get this in writing with penalties payable if a new govt changes it’s mind

Penrith can't sell memberships until we know where we are playing

The whole thing has been poorly handled, Is that possible? Public is on the Govt side with this the PR battle has been NRL is being gifted the upgrades

So instead of a state of the art stadium at Penrith we get half arsed minor upgrades at 3 grounds. That really makes sense!

It really makes sense to penalise Western Sydney for having a Western Sydney GF!
Let's reward the also rans. Can't have Western Sydney get ahead can we!

you will be playing where you are now in 2023 for sure ... upgrades will commence at seasons end next year

& govts spin shit all the time to justify their spending , if its to ensure the NRL GF for 10 years the public will moan for a week & it'll be forgotten

first one in 55 years , might be 55 more before another one
so pretty stupid analogy
But that is the reason they are giving for the change! A Western Sydney GF means we don't get a new stadium in Western Sydney just an upgrade, and 2 half arsed upgrades to clubs in coastal suburbs!

ah no
the reason for the change is .... the NRL wants more then one of its clubs benefitting from the 500 mill spend
A very reasonable stance

an end to pork barreling & govt corruption ( basically what penriths new stadium was ) & the money rightly spent among nsw tax payers in 3 areas instead of one

is a just outcome
