Ah, well even then it was done in a way that meant a season could be played in between in 2004, the club didn’t have to move and the ground capacity was barely reduced if at all.No it wasn't. Lower tier was done first and then the upper a year later.

OR the NRL could actually get creative with games. Run of the mill club games at accor are as horrible as games a shtty suburban grounds.
However if a Ch9 Friday night blockbuster game was scheduled at Accor every week featuring all sydney clashes, members of both clubs get in, and members of any other club gets in for 50% normal ticket price, NRL supports with marketing and a bit of cash to participating clubs, kids get in free, make it a must do event in Sydney every Friday night with a beer village outside the stadium with bands etc etc then we could use accor every week but at least try and get something positive out of its use and maximise the fact we have an over proliferation of clubs in one city. Of course would require Ch9 to not shown the Broncos lol
yeah it's most definitely a solution mate.Ah, well even then it was done in a way that meant a season could be played in between in 2004, the club didn’t have to move and the ground capacity was barely reduced if at all.
Didn’t say the past government didn’t invest, they did. I want this one to keep investing.
because they said they would dummy
committed 2 Billion to stadiums that the NRL use
then reneged about 800 mill shy of that figure
thats why
doesn't matter it was the previous Govt
honor the deal
AFL fan in Perth telling people in NSW what they should do and what their tax dollars should be spent on.Why should they? why should they build a stadium for every club?
They've built two outstanding stadiums for sydney clubs to use.
Looks like they may hopefully build one for one more (politcally motivcated or not).
Why should they find hundreds of millions more to appease 4 or 5 clubs who cant be arsed to use the stadium available and build their businesses around that? I don't know of any place in the world that would be building 6 or 7 stadiums for predominantly one sport to use. I can see why NSW tax payers are saying no more.
Height of arrogance and stupidity. Same as it ever was.AFL fan in Perth telling people in NSW what they should do and what their tax dollars should be spent on.
It doesn't matter..This government is drawing from the same pool of money as the last one. It’s all the same money. And $1.6 billion is a hell of an investment in stadiums.
What? Of course it matters that it was the previous government - that's why people vote to change government. They disagree with the decisions a government are making and vote to change them so different decisions will be made.
It doesn't matter..
the NRL will see them as the Govt & not much else .... the conditions to retain the GF in Sydney will be the same for both Govts
build the stadiums ( lock it in for an extended time ) or bid for the event like everyone else
At which point the GF will be moved. At which point the NSW Government will say 'we have spent $1.6 billion on stadiums principally for the use of the NRL -if he's going to hold us to ransom over this then he'll never be happy' and they're f**king well right.
Deals are deals
it was agreed that X amount of $ would be spent on stadia in Sydney
800 mill shy wasn't the deal ...
we're not at 1.6 Bill yet , Penrith hasn't been built & may not be built
honor the agreement to secure the GF in Sydney , plain n simple
I still want them to invest more. I want more boutique type stadiums accessible to more Sydneysiders. Specifically, and full disclosure, want one south of Sydney that I can watch the sharks play out of. I really dont give a shit how much they’ve already spent or who spent it.This government is drawing from the same pool of money as the last one. It’s all the same money. And $1.6 billion is a hell of an investment in stadiums.

And how many times do you need to be told , It makes no difference to the NRL who people voted for or what govt is in power or what a Govt's agenda is , PVL is not an elected official & his job is to ensure what is in the best interests of the sport he governs , plain & simple. How many times do you need to be told - the deal was with the previous government. The government the people voted out because they didn't like the way they were governing.
If government worked the way you seem to think it should we'd never have elections because there would never be changest of policy.
Precisely. There's every chance a change of Government can (and often DOES) mean a priority can be changed or completely abandoned. How many times do you need to be told - the deal was with the previous government. so when the ALP NSW Govt says to the NRL ... WE .. already built 1.6 Billion in stadia for you , & PVL says..Precisely. There's every chance a change of Government can (and often DOES) mean a priority can be changed or completely abandoned.
I know people who've worked in Government departments who worked on projects for months/years, only for all that to be shelved due to a change in their political boss - sometimes it doesn't even need a change in party, as even a new PM from the same party can up-end priorities from their predecessor!
