If they're saying $300mill for 2 main stands they need some different quotes lol

QCB was done for $300mil, that included a shitload of earth works prior to the stadium getting built to raise the level up higher than Ross Creek and the extra engineering fruitery that goes with constructing large shit in a cyclone area.

as long as it’s built in a way the hills can be filled in later if more money is found

300 million will get two amazing stands with all the bells and whistles

it won’t look as good as commbank tho

I’m just worried much of the 300 will go to pussyfooting around with the current structures instead of just going that bit further and building it right for the next half century(as a result actually making it cheaper).

Despite the fact that construction costs are higher these days, you do not spend $300 million to upgrade ANY ground and still have grass hills.
That's just embarrassing.

SHouldn't get a taxpayer cent if they're keeping hills
Shouldnt be signing a contract if they cant get 4 all seater stands built for $300mill!
$75 mill for 10-12k main stand
$125mill for 8k corporate stand
$25mill each for 3k each uncovered end stands (with design ability to roof in future)
$50mill for rest

24-26k all seater should def be achievable. The way they build these type of stands as a kind of skeleton pre fab is much more efficient these days.

They will spend 150m on panthers. (changerooms/Corporate area's/Toilets/Food options/Roof)

And the other 161m on other rectangular venues in Sydney, one of them being leichhardt.

Troy Dodds seems to be on the money.

Couldnt think of a bigger waste of tax payer money. Spend $300mill and still end up without one decent stadium amongst them.

I would prefer a Brand new stadium at Panthers.

Those other venues are hardly used.

I think what kills the panther plans for a brand new stadium is 1 full time tennant.

Commbank has 2 and many other games from other clubs, Boxing, concerts.

Commbank also has a possible Western Sydney Rugby Union team down the track.

Just put the money into building the metro and be done with it. $300 mil to ‘upgrade’ dump stadiums is the most NSW thing ever

As long as in 10 years when they build an Entertainment venue out here, They finish it as opposed to a white elephant

I was at Penrith last week for the first time in ages

the cbd is still fairly undeveloped

you could see theyv staryed doing medium rise apartments but nothing like parra

it was so long too started near high st and Westfield was down the other end

for 300 mill you'd probably get 2 grand stands on either side , maybe near the size of the ones in Newc ... hills to remain so maybe a 27 or 28K capacity

if this is the case , surely Penrith don't have to move during construction
they could play at a reduced capacity stadium while they're built , maybe taking only the biggest games to parramatta

one stand built in 2024
2nd one in 2025
completed in 2026
That’s honestly not a bad result, it’d finish with a stadium people would want to visit and the hills could still probably be upgraded later. The important thing is its not a lipstick on a pig situation.

No one flocks anywhere on a Thurs night! Its a dumb time to play prof sport.
The clubs should make it more attractive to go out on a school night by reducing ticket prices, heck make it $1 for kids, and having sponsored give aways at the game, and the NRL should insist on a 7pm KO so families can get home at a reasonable time.

Every sport plays on Thurs night

People like @Fangs love the Hills

Atleast the design will be different than others

The 'real' fans.

As happy as I am to have a patch of uneven grass to stand on I don't really like the idea of $300 million on a refurb.

They can deposit it in the Panthers bank account and when the next state government gets voted in we will lobby for the extra $150 million needed.
