The talk of moving the GF around and MCG comes up.if they’re serious, they need to somehow bring in temporary seating on the field as it’s a terrible viewing experience at the ground or tv watching a rectangle field in an oval field.
Optus was able to make it look less oval.
How does it ruin the TV experience?

The southern half of the MCG will be rebuilt in the next five years. Hopefully they allow for some infill seating, which is not possible at the moment.
How could you do that without completely obstructing the view of the lower bowl?

These solutions for oval fields are shit anyway, as a small minority get a bit closer, but the vast majority are still miles away.

Seems like people just want this for the TV aesthetic and forget what the reality is

The same way as Perth. You build the main stand a couple of meters up off the ground, so you can place five rows inside the fence for rectangular sports. It brings everyone five rows closer.

MCG is going to 105k, so would be about 107k with infill seats on one side.

It's the same as Accor or Marvel

It's not the lower bowl which sucks, they can slide in close, it's the next tier. They don't slide in, and are 30 metres more away from the sideline than say Lang Park

Dame as Perth, the lower bowl is fine with the fill in, but once your in the cricket-eque upper stands, you're squinting

The lower bowl of Parra is quite slim, it's what makes the upper stands so good. They're close

MCG will be 110k plus from what I've seen in news.
