The proposal is for a privately owned stadium

It’s literally the dogs proposal to develop their own land

How it gets funded is a separate issue entirely

If they didn’t want a stadium they would’ve used the space for hundreds of more units

A dogs owned stadium in Liverpool would make them one of the strongest Sydney clubs and pretty secure all that region

How it gets funded is key to it happening or not in this case. It isn't like they have $1b and now want the Stadium

That won't happen.

What is being done is converting the Bankstown line into a Metro line which will make that link up with the Homebush one.

Making that trip even easier
Its likely once the Metro west is open, the Olympic Park Station will be a direct line to Bankstown in major event mode.

They just pushed back the completion of five dock 2 years

The stadiums useless life will be close to being over by the time supporting infrastructure is built

No it wont.
It will be still hosting exactly what its doing at the moment.
Stadiums are lucky to get 50 years lifetime before needing an upgrade or being demolished. It’s already half way there now and that metro you talk about is decades away

But it might make a good connection for the apartments that are being built around there.

Metro West has been under construction for 4 years
It was to be completed in 2030 until Minns got in, stuffed it around and delayed the opening to 2032
It certainly is not decades away

Accor does need an upgrade/rebuild before then but pulling it down and rebuilding a shopping centre is ridiculous.

Why aren’t the qrl or the chairman of the broncos and dolphins talking about how they need Suncorp upgraded
Because the main topic of conversation around Brisbane stadiums is where the 2032 Athletics will be held. And the cricket being currently on at the Gabba ties in with that conversation. Crusifulli has timed it very well for a backflip on his ‘no new stadiums’ policy, and with the Gabba full today, and the Lions first home game next season already sold out, CA and the Lions are both putting their foot down.

“I’m frustrated this isn’t the first Test, let alone people talking about us not having a Test. That defies logic,” Crisafulli said on the ABC’s Grandstand. “We’re going to do something that makes Queenslanders proud.

“I’m mindful we are sitting in a venue that is reaching the end of its life and I don’t want to be in a state where we can’t have a claim to have a Test in every series.”

As soon as Magic Round sells out the NRL needs to push their barrow with similar rhetoric.

He’s lieing it doesn’t “sell out all the time”

And the previous proposal was to have Suncorp hosting the major opening and closing ceremonies

Anything more than a 30k rebuild is a total waste of time for both cricket and the other sport

Magic sells out every year so does origin so do many club games

They should learn from Sydney what a white elephant a 50k plus oval is
