The distance to the middle of the MCG doesn’t change. It is already 100m from those seats to the centre of the field/pitch of any sport. In some respects the action will be closer, with the small field, the play on the opposite side will only be 125m away, not 170m.
Yes, I know the centre doesn't change however the distance from sideline to stand does.

Anyway good on Melbourne, it will be an experience for nfl fans.

Its a great event. Been to a few NFL games at Wembley back in the day and always had a great time. Id be there if I wasn't travelling. As compromised as the view is the MCG with 90k+ people in is an experience on its own. That alone makes up for the distant view imo. Origin was awesome there that I went to.

Talk of giving up kogarah for Allianz for the Sydney games but it’s still a pretty good stadium
Being left way behind. it’s not hard to see why on the field they are doing nothing when off the field they still think this half built semi oval is where they should call home.

NFL made a huge blunder not going Allianz
NFL is a money making organisation. They didnt make a blunder at all. They'll sell 40-50k more tickets and will geta lot more $'s from Vic Govt than NSW would have paid.

If you're goal is to make as much profit as possible, not to care about sight lines, then its the smart choice.
The only people caring about sight lines are people who wont go anyway lol. NFL fans will pack it out regardless.

Local fans getting fleeced for more money

The view will be awful for 95 percent of the crowd

Not like local Melbourne people will appreciate a sport like nfl anyway it will be a lot of tourists

Exactly. It's a massive win by Melbourne.

You bang on about Vegas, this will be bigger than Vegas by a long way.

Melbourne now have: The Australian Open Tennis, The Australian F1 Grand Prix and now this.

Its a choice.
As it will be filled this issue seems to matter more to you, someone who has no intention of attending regardless of stadium, than it will to the 90k NFL fans that will happily pay a lot of money to go to the game.
Im sure Vic govt is banking on it being full of sports tourists, thats why they've picked big bucks to host it.
