I mean it's going to be hilarious when the Lions are back down the bottom of the table and averaging 15K in a 60K stadium. Bring it on.
Much better had they got zero upgrade and the money gone to kayoballymore also serves as a center of excellence for rugby in queensland though i think there's a difference
what ya talking about cob? phins got council state and fed gov cash for the upgrades when they happened.Much better had they got zero upgrade and the money gone to kayo
But union asked and the dolphins didn’t
I’m talking about now now as part of the Olympics spendwhat ya talking about cob? phins got council state and fed gov cash for the upgrades when they happened.
No its not, 60k doesnt meet the need now let alone in 20 years. Would have been better to lobby for decent stadiums for Dolphins and a future SW Brisbane club at Ipswich and leave Suncorp as is for another 10-15 years or so then NRL go hard to lobby for a 70k replacement with the offer of GF's etc.As others have raised, why haven't the NRL, ARU or Football lobbied for Suncorp or other rectangular venues in Brisbane?
And i guess when you look at Victoria Park, it does represent a long term solution for Cricket and Fumbles. Bear in mind that Brisbane's population will grow. Whether the Lions can fill it is another conversation.
Is upgrading Suncorp to 60k a long term solution? But first, the NRL, ARU and Football have to lobby. And they should lobby down in Canberra too.
as per usual we only have ourselves to blame. Don't hate on others for doing a better job.Free Kick to AFL locked in and kick in the balls to Rugby League. Watch the AFL sink their claws into this thing.
Would be a waste, would mean Suncorp being stuck at 57-60k for decades. better to rebuild to 70k+ as and when.Flogball has a habit of getting what it wants.
Even in Brisbane and Sydney, they win the day.
Surely Suncorp could have been used for the top soccer and union 7s games for the Olympics and thus received a capacity boost to something similar to Victoria Park.
The fumblers win again.
My thoughts exactly. I'm amused at everyone thinking we'll do them in the TV rights this time around after having our arse handed to us repeatedly over the last 20 years.Flogball has a habit of getting what it wants.

Suncorp would cost considerably more to knock down and rebuild than what Gabba would have been. The Gabba would have cost considerably more to knock down and rebuild than the chosen Victoria Park.Would be a waste, would mean Suncorp being stuck at 57-60k for decades. better to rebuild to 70k+ as and when.

Cut this "we" bullshitas per usual we only have ourselves to blame. Don't hate on others for doing a better job.
