For all the engineers on here, a discussion of the ROI for more seats at Lang Park.

From today's Cairns Post.
Calling it now Origin will head to Victoria Park once it's open. Extra 10k seats. That's alot of money for the NRL.

Blud the NRL owns the finals series and they don't move Cronulla from their sheep shed in week one. Origins will not leave Lang Park. If you were an NRL fan, you'd know this, and you'd know why
He’s an AFL fan who’d like to think we didn’t notice it.

With Ipswich jets looking at an nrl team than that’s where they should play their games as a point of difference to the broncos and dolphins

Like when the broncos played at qe2 which was a dump whilst the crushers had lang park

A few hundred million for 5k extra seats ? Thats a hard no just leave it as is and then make the case later on for a new 70 to 80k stadium

It seems like the qld govt is trying to stop the perception it’s done little for league in Brisbane but they made the choice for Victoria Park over a billion spent on Suncorp

The QLD gov should build a new 35k stadium at the Gabba site and do a full refurb on Suncorp.
tear down the western stand, fill the corners, and put a roof over it. 62k-72k would be ideal.
Yes, this is exactly what should happen. Brisbane is in dire need of a mid sized rectangular stadium so Suncorp can drop Reds, Roar and smaller drawing NRL games and just focus on being a big stadium for Broncos (allow them to push their averages closer to 50k), all the big SEQLD derbies between Brons, Phins, Jets and Tits except Tits home games of course) and the international soccer and Union teams.

Pretty sure the govt is looking at an upgrade to Perry park as the ffa have been lobbying for it

Which is basically useless for nrl

But perfect for the Reds and other codes which draw low.
Roar are average 6.2k so 20k is way too big for them

Reds are trying to get more money for ballymore don’t know if they intend to play there if it gets to 20k

Perry park is being pushed solely by the ffa and nobody else

Ballymore is falling down. Since Olympic funding got pulled (cause they were going to play hockey there, but hockey australia got pissed at that), it's now back to begging for the stadium just to get patched up. Reds aren't ever goign to play proper games there again. Residents would have a fit given it's location.
