Sharks won’t want to move games when the leagues club is open they are spending 19 million on the refurb

The money sharks miss out on crowds they will more than make up for from the leagues club

Not every club should move away from their territory.

I’m a big believer in all clubs playing majority of their home games at one stadium. For Tigers & Dragons I agree that it should be Campbelltown and Wollongong, 8-9 games a year. Allianz should get use from both of them as well for at least 1-2 games a year.

Saints should be 4 Allianz, 1 kogarah, 7 gong.

All the big Sydney clubs and derbies at Allianz (roosters, Souths, dogs, sharks derby), titans at kogarah as part of heritage round, the rest at Wollongong. Upgrade Wollongong to a 27k all seater and maybe we end up moving an extra game or two there over time.

Tigers home games in Sydney:
98 @ Leichhardt - 12,356 average.
96 @ Campbelltown - 11,824 average.
46 @ Homebush - 22,532 average.
20 @ Old SFS - 18,332 average.
16 @ Parra - 10,470 average.
5 @ SCG - 20,682 average.

Dragons home games in Sydney & Wollongong:
146 @ Wollongong - 12,465 average.
108 @ Kogarah - 12,253 average.
25 @ Old SFS - 18,556 average.
15 @ Homebush - 19,246 average.
9 @ SCG - 20,046 average.
1 @ New SFS - 40,727.

Keeping that in mind, it certainly looks like Homebush is the best option for the Tigers & SFS for the Dragons (from a pure crowd average) - doesn't it?

It certainly puts a pin in arguments to move the majority of those clubs home games to Campbelltown & Wollongong respectively... unless an upgrade to the state of those grounds could encourage better turnout?

these figures can be a little misleading … the low drawing teams like the Titans and Cowboys games tended to go to the suburban grounds..:And the big Sydney derbies were played at the bigger stadiums who were paying for the privilege and got to pick the best games … “Event “games like Anzac Day and Easter Monday crowds distort the figures as well

Yeh agreed obviously some of the SFS, SCG & Stadium Australia numbers would be bigger event games so it distorts the figures somewhat.

I do think it shows there is an appetite for both fan bases to travel to Moore Park and/or Homebush for bigger games. I’m surprised at some of those numbers to be honest. Dragons have played 50 home games at Moore Park (SFS & SCG) and Homebush since the merge, Tigers have played 46 at Homebush and 25 at Moore Park.
