What’s the end game of the Government here?

Souths will just move to Allianz Stadium in 2031 or whatever the first year after their Accor Stadium deal is complete. Where does that leave the Government then?
I'd say Govt dont want Accor to be a white elephant. This gives them 5 years to come up with the redevelopment plan for it and keep the current tenants there longer term. If Souths move to Allianz they arent ever moving back to Accor and then the upgrade becomes less viable.

There are other factors at play. Each stadium would have separate food and beverage contracts worth tens of million$ with different suppliers and service providers, signed on the basis of who is playing where.
Plus sponsors, stadium memberships etc that all get devalued of a major tenant moves out.

The current state govt aren't that progressive. They would have no forward planning for an upgrade of Accor. Ever.

The NRL could chip in and help out by saying "let Souths out of Solly's hell whole deal and we will play all Sydney clubs thursday night games there".

Also, as a cousin reminded me, when Souths first moved out to Accor, then Souths CEO Shane Richardson pointed out that a survey of its members indicated many of them lived closer to Accor than the (then) SFS so it would be a shorter commute for them.

The government arent stupid.
Without Accor,then no origin,no gf,no major events,no huge concerts.
Fortunately or unfortunately, the venue is suitable to continue to maintain and attract events, especially considering the huge investment in Metro West.
By 2027,they will be planning its future.
