The game lost some support in the regional Illawarra / Nowra area post merger. A lot of families originally supported other clubs, changed to the Steelers in 1982, but did not stick with the Dragons post merger. People who were involved with the Steelers were disillusioned. There are always some fans lost with a merger.
There needs to be another entrance to the hill side and a concourse behind the hill to make it easier to get in and out.
from what I’ve seen when in town there’s been a lot of people from Sydney move there and bring their own club allegiances with them. I’ve seen more souths merch on display than dragons on non game days.
Im assuming you’re referring to Exhibition Station. That’s going to be 1.2km from the stadium in initial reports

The commercial-in-confidence dossier, seen by The Courier-Mail, also reveals for the first time the proposed location of the $3.7bn Olympic stadium.
The stadium will be built at Victoria Park over the waterhole at the end of Gilchrist Ave, adjacent to the existing pedestrian bridge.
The warm-up athletics track is slated for the eastern end of Victoria Park, next to the busway station.
A second pedestrian bridge will be built above the Inner City Bypass to link the stadium with the new $650m National Aquatic Centre at the existing Centenary Pool.
The revelations are contained in a confidential June proposal by Queensland Rail – understood to be undertaken at the request of the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
Queensland Rail proposes a new three-platform train station be built at the current site of the rollingstock wash facility next to the Inner City Bypass.
“The station could serve as a key component of the precinct’s integrated transport solution, enhancing accessibility, supporting future population growth and ensuring long-term economic and social value,” it said.
The distance between Victoria Park and the recently renovated Exhibition Station had prompted speculation the government would build another station.

The government did not comment on whether it would progress the proposal, and the cost has not been revealed.
Victoria Park was selected by the 100-day review panel as the location of Brisbane’s Olympic Stadium in part for its connection to Brisbane Metro and Exhibition station – and proximity
to Fortitude Valley station and Roma Street railway stations.
However the panel warned upgrades were required to Exhibition Station to “cater for additional patronage through the station during event times”.
That finding was made before the government revealed a 25,000-seat National Aquatics Centre would also be built in the area.
An upgrade of the RNA Arena will deliver three stadiums with 108,000 seats within 1.5km.
The southern end of Victoria Park is the flattest and was widely thought to be the location of the new stadium.
The Courier-Mail can reveal broadcast facilities and a holding compound used for the logistically challenging opening and closing ceremonies are also planned to be built in the 500m between the stadium and warm-up track.
Transport Minister Brent Mickelberg last month conceded additional investment would be required in the precinct to support the stadium, aquatics centre and athletes village.
“What we need to do is we need to one, design the stadium, stadium infrastructure and then work out what transport links are required, at a finer detail how to move people in and out of those facilities as quickly as possible,” he said.

All this talk about the pitch being terrible for both the SFS and SCG makes me think when it comes time to upgrade/rebuild Accor, the government should spend big and build a retractable pitch with a roof.
