Mate I'm not disagreeing that he should have made more of an effort to get there and I made it clear that I feel he's not immune to criticism, however I think that it's over the top to slam this bloke's character after we lose a game in those circumstances.
So let's say he sprints to the ball, in my view he would get close to it but still wouldn't have taken it on the full as he had a fair bit of ground to cover and he had to turn in the process. So if he's sprinting at full speed towards the ball and it bounces like that on its point he's still got no hope in hell of taking it and would be wrong footed in the process anyway.
Not arguing that the effort on that play could have been better but the idea that this one play alone cost us the game when we had already given up a 22-0 lead through dumb play is laughable. People on here just like to have a scapegoat, someone to call a pea-hearted merkin each week and inevitably whoever makes the most glaring error that week ends up being the one who gets the label.
Also just on his decision to stay at the Knights rather than go to Broncos, they seem to be able to afford just about anyone because of their TBA deals so I don't think money would have been that much of an issue for them, I'm not convinced by the argument that every player is just in it for the money, some of them are I'm sure but he genuinely seems to like living in Newcastle and appears to feel some loyalty to the club that took a punt on him when he was a cast off a few years ago. Obviously neither of us know for sure unless you know him personally (which I admit I don't) so I guess we're both just basing it on personal opinion rather than true fact.
Either way I still think the way the guy is derided around here is over the top.
