He did say in a couple of years. Assuming the soonest possible time... that would be 2010. With any luck at all, Matt Elliott won't be here then.

As long as Wade Graham is as handy as he currently is at distributing the ball and bossin the forwards around the park, he had better not be moved away from the halves.

ITs been the club of broken dreams these past few seasons except for a few very elite youngsters.

Elliot was supposed to be turning these brilliant young men into superstars.

Like Souths, a shot at the finals is in order...but realistically, barring an aeroplane crashing into every other squad, theres no real prospect of an actual title this year for the Panthers.

So Id love to see a number of youngsters being blooded.

It would be a change from seeing the old firm continue on in their slow decline. Its been like watching a beloved work horse die slowly, agonizing and excrutiating. I am sure we all felt like shooting it ( or elliot ).

Most of that 03 team should have been punted a lot earlier.

I wonder how Priddo will go with the dragons. He had to go, I agree, but what will he do there I wonder.

In the meantime Sugar is impressing the Souths people.

I've never been a huge fan of Smith at lock, mainly because he seems to get dominated a bit in defence. He has a good work ethic and is a good solid player. I think if he can work a bit harder on his strength, maybe put on a few kgs in the legs and work on getting a bit more leg drive when he hits the line, I haven't got a problem with him. All sides need a workaholic in their pack to add balance.

I think our performance in 2009 will hinge on 2 main things:

1. Pritchard staying focussed and playing to his full potential/no injuries
2. Sammut/Romelo making the step up to FG, and Elliott moving Lewis out of the halves, back to the centres/wing/back row where he plays his best footy.

I think we have the depth in the front row, hooker, back row and outside backs to be competative. Our lack of experience in the halves worries me.
