I thought the idea of charging a kid for cereal was absurd enough to make it obvious but just in case; it was a crack at him being a notorious tightarse who wouldn't work for free, not his parenting.

Taken as read AJB, not intended as a criticism.
Probably looking at decent payment for what he has put in I would say. Most players just get used up and spat out by pro sport. But a lot of romour about him being a tightass, same was said about ET ,another who would not work for free. Both did so though , to their credit.
