Played in the centres from the 10 minute mark when Ryan McGoldrick went off injured.....poor bugger

I thought he did a great job and really gave us some starch when taking up the ball and defending. He looked really fit and mobile. He's a very valuable player to the side.

His the fastest forward in the NRL(With Wing out) so he could always handle it speed wise but he did a good job I must say. Good player who always puts in, I hope we don't ever lose him. I think it's time I brought back the Gallen avatar

It was strange. We had 3 forwards in the back line, Hilder from lock to 5/8th, Bailey into the centres, Gallen to centre after McGoldrick came off

Out muscle Canberra with a lot of muscle I guess.

As I said leading up to the game. The only way we were going to beat Canberra was to muscle up over the park. Bailey's inclusion in the centres really gives us some thrust in hitting it up out wide and his defence is god because of his height he really smothers the attacker.

Canberra didn't know where to run tonite.

Two secondrowers in the centres. There was hardly any weak links in the defensive line and boy did they move up quickly.

He went great out there. Ran well with the ball and did his usual amount of tackling. He also managed to shut down Robertson, who is a real speedster.

Bails did equally well in closing down Monaghan and Mogg, 2 very dangerous blokes with pace and power.

Gallen did well and he may be fast for a forward but in the backs you need fast backs. Where did Canberra score most of their tries? Why? Because they were faster and had overlaps in the backs. If Vagana had been playing I am sure Canberra would not have scored three tries.

yet when the boys attacked them with our big men and got past them. Bailey broke the line at will off any half decent kimmorley ball

Don't think the problem is really the wingers but the overall lineup out wide. With the experience of Vagana out there I'm sure they would number up much better. I'm not expecting him to be a one man band but just a great influence for our younger guys.

Yeah close to the line Simmons and Reick are dodgy in defence.

I think you'll find that's more to do with lack of confidence in their inside man.

The try down Reick's wing you see Bailey get caught in two minds on whether to take the guy inside or stay out. By the time the pass is thrown and he needs to commit to the outside guy, Reick has been pulled in off his man. Try time.

Same happened down Simmo's wing. Give it time, and guys who are used to defending in the centres inside them, at it will be alright.

Truth be told sharknows, poor reads by Simmo and Rieck on two occasion cost us two tries wide, not speed. But that's okay, that wil sort itself out with confidence that tonights win will bring. A sound effort out wide without being 100%, our match was won up the guts and the dominant pack tonight, not the wings.

I spoke to Simmo tonight, and he said that was the gameplan. Everyone knows that the Raiders are awesome down the middle, so the plan was to tighten everything up in the rucks and make the Raiders score out wide. It happened just as they planned, and worked a treat.

Admittedly a few poor defensive reads by the wingers/centres but who's complaining. Its nice to be in a position to be letting in consolation tries - it means we're winning.

Don't you agree but Beeker that Vagana will organise and teach the outside backs more about their positional play.
