Seen Boyd play this year? Not running sideways any more. As for Bell..... Your probly right.

Yup he's been awesome this year, and it pisses me off every time to see him run straight and hard from a kick return for the Dragons when he used to skip sideways while he played for us.

Including players who are versatile and can cover a number of positions:
1 - Hoffman (Kemp, Beale, Norman, Gagai and even Hodgo or Yow Yeh if none of the previous are available)
2,5 - Yow Yeh, Kemp (Beale, Rivett, Copley, Gagai)
3,4 - Hodgo, ? (Copley, Beale, Glenn, Gillett, Te'o)
6 - Locky (Norman, Hunt)
7 - Wallace (Hunt, Norman)

I'm not disagreeing with you I was just adding in some of the options you missed as we have more depth than you think.

In saying that though, our wing depth is a bit scary if we cop a long term injury to one of our wingers.

I remember about a month or two ago there was an article getting around that Daniel Vidot was keen to come to Tits/Broncos due to family reasons or something alike. He would be an awesome signing if he was still keen to come up North.

Blake Fergusson seems to be leaving Sharks and I agree that he would be a good pickup but for the right price.

Also I have heard things that Dury Low is on his way out of Canberra so maybe he could be a decent depth signing?

Ehh, we will just have to wait and see what happens between now and seasons end I suppose.
My post was more pointed at having quality specialist players in their positions.
I did forget Beale, my bad.

Having said that, we are probably in agreement that the total number of players in the back positions is a bit flimsy. My biggest worry isn't the FB or winger position, but more the centres.
Beale is ok, but like Glenn, he is more of a utility player. Copley might do the job, but then we'd probably have to revert to using a utility or a back rower in case of an injury there, and would lose the backup winger (I don't rate Rivett). And I don't even want to think to the worst case scenario of Hodgo retiring due to his injury...

Is this a possibility? I guess archilles is one of the big daddies when it comes to injuries. Holy crap, hello cap space. Good to get someone not as injury prone.

It's one of the worse injuries you can get, often a career ending one for top athletes like Tony Currie in the article mentioned below, although the medical technology has since progressed quite a bit...

i put them people on my list for alot of reasons. 1 I dont think you can keep buying young players and think they can win the comp when locky leaves we will have a team of young guys that wont win the comp for years i.e RAIDERS. 2 We need to replace the guys we are losing with ppl that play that position not trying to make other players in to players that we want ie Ashton Sims is not Webby. Inglis is not coming to the broncos so ppl need to focus on what we can get and not what we want lol.

i think we have a good pool of talent and whilst inexperienced at the moment ina few years some of these young guys may have tasted origin or be on the brink of it. given you cant stockpile players anymore, the onyl backs i'd be buying were proven matchwinners like an inglis or slater. i'd be looking at ensuring we have the funds so that in the enxt few years when palyers liek hoffman and yoh yeh are worth a lot more money we can keep them rather than replacing them with several other backs who arent of any greater quality. i.e. when we lost Civinoceva we essentially replaced him wioth Clinton and Sims, petero is way greater than those 2 players we brought to the club.

Inglis was a nice pipedream and i didnt really see it happening, although even though they've said he wont be comingh, until the audit of the storm is released I dont think you can 100% rule anything out
