Gallen is the problem at the Sharks

I think he is a great leader but not as captain necessarily. He is a bloke that would run through a wall and fight a bull and players follow that lead. But he gets too much red mist to be in control when things get dirty, and he wants the ball too much. I have no idea what he says behind closed doors but I doubt it's always measured. Guys like Watmough and JWH are leaders at their clubs because of their style of play, but they're not the captain. I see that type of leadership as being best for Gallen - just run hard and inspire others to follow.

Great forward leader for any team but I would not want him for captain.

In saying that, he is not responsible for the Sharks poor form nor NSW over the years. Anyone trying to pin that on him are deluded

Spot on. Look, Gallen has always been the problem, and they made him captain.
Bird, Gallen, the Asada case, the Ryan incident, not to mention sponsors not wanting a bar of the place, this club oozes bad publicity for the code, which has gone un-challenged now for years.
Gallen thinks he is a law to emself.
His origin antics should have been squashed and punished years ago, now we cant sell out Origin because fans refuse to acknowledge him as a leader. Same is now happening with NSW niggling antics, poor old Mal is the only guy in the code who can see the damage it is doing to the game, fans are fed-up and refuse to attend while Gallen the dawg, is in the team.
NSW are digging a grave for rugby league.
