OK now assuming we can all be honest I bet I'm not the only one that has a perculating thought in mind that Gall may just of been saving himself for origin.

Reason I ask is because if it ever did become apparent that the this happened there is a huge potential fallout for The Sharks.

I was only following the game last night on the score tracker so I can't comment on his appearance.
Did he look injured?
Was he reluctant to stay on the bench when parra started gettin a roll on??

Crossed my mind for sure. After 15 minutes I had to check if he was even out there. Way down on his normal involvement.

All good rep players manage thier way through season differently.

Perhaps Flanno should go down the Brissy path and rest him all together.

He wasn't good. Meaning that I didn't even notice he was off.

We were poor all round. Boring.

See how we go without him this week. Perhaps the ego has overtaken the team.

Wade to 13, chad to 6.

Disappointing. Probably did more metres on the bike than the field. Glad he found it funny. I was concerned he or TC would get injured. Not much danger of that. Annoying how quickly he dismissed any chance of missing origin. Personally would have preferred a Top 4 finish than Origin success. Comes with being a Sharks supporter. TC not finding touch didn't help. Even if NSW win at Sydney winning at Suncorp not easy. God knows how little he might try if series level at 1-1.

I heard Flanno on Triple M after the game being interviewed and his comment in regards to Gallen was that he picked up a knock to the knee, he could have come back on but after Parra scored the go ahead try he decided that he would save him as we "were not looking like scoring".

For me that attitude is unforgivable.

Absolutely. Why isnt Flano in Gals ear while he is on the bench with a few ideas about pulling the game out of the fire?

1. Why wasnt Flanagan ripping doors off hinges & screaming at the pharkers at half time for only scoring that may points!!
2. AS per Newman
3.I dont think Gallen was shirking as per Millers. I just dont think his mind was on the captains job
4. Flanagan should be made sit in on a Ivan Cleary coaching lesson.
5. PHARRRRKKKK !! that team came out of the sheds underdone! Worst performance since Andersons era without a doubt!

Agree point 1 Reefy.
I'd prefer our coach smash doors, walls, windows and radios than say "I left Gal off cos we didn't look like scoring" - that's a white flag attitude.

I think Gall exasperates Flanno to the point he can't be bothered. Player power. We will never know. Didn't look great to me. Especially when he goes off in game before Origin 1. I have heard Gall regularly produces the will I/won't I be fit card. Flanno finds it frustrating. Can you imagine if he threw Gall back on and he did get injured and missed Origin. Flanno is damned if he does , damned if he doesn't. More Galls decision than Flanno's. Sidetracked our issues with the useless backs especially the wingers. Even with a crap second half , had Best scored we would have won. I thought he was a cert. Despite the good defence.

There's 16 other blokes out there fellas.

Gordon needs to play some touch footy on the wing to learn how to position himself, he all but single handedly gave Parra the game.

Nothing frustrates me more than watching the forwards bust their nuts in attack and defence, and for it all to be pissed up the wall by some dumb merkin on the wing who rushes in and isolates his centre and leaks tries.

Most f**king annoying thing ever.

For that alone, Gordon should be dumped to park footy for the rest of the year.

Un-f**king-forgiveable.

Carney was average.

I think the bye was the worst thing for the Sharks. The confidence and momentum the squad had was all stopped and they've gotta start all over again to get it back.

Playing so teams starting to find a bit of form over coming weeks to, they don't have time to f**k about. They need to win at least 2 of the next 3 games

I hate Origin. It's somehow become bigger than the game, more important than the club rounds. If you must have three games, and have them in the middle of the season, then have a 3 week break or somesuch, let them get it over with, and then get back to the competition the clubs, and the fans, all pay good money to see

If nein demand blood every weekend then schedule some kind of knockout cup or something like that for those weekends, or schedule origin for Saturday nights

Anyone else going for Qld in game 2 just to get this distraction out of the way?

This is the main issue I saw out there last night, watching friom the Eastern Grandstand. I could not see any of Gallen's off field behaviour, but our forwards were by and large doing their job. We managed to defend much better against Manly and St George. I really hope there's no State of Origin agenda throwing a spanner in the works.

people quick to blame Gordon here. What were his instructions? AS far as I can see he was doing exactly what he was told. Jam in on the centre & make Parra take the Risky option of going around, close to the line with slippery ball & field. Any normal night game, that is a given tactic. However, that field looked neither wet or slippery. Conditions looked very good for doing exactly what Parra did. Go around us.
A disjointed defensive approach by the centres winger & fullbacks compounded the issue.

Not a huge representation of voters but as I write it's 18-5 that had the thought cross their mind.

Now, I'm being careful here not to make a claim so if, hypothetically, Gall was saving himself for origin then who has Gall's ear more? Flanno or Sticky?

As for Flanno saying (in part) ".....after Parra scored the go ahead try he decided that he would save him as we "were not looking like scoring".

Why didn't he see the writing on the wall? It took till Parra went ahead on the scoreboard for him to sense trouble?
