There's multiple clubs who refuse to sign players who have anything to do with this agent, because it always ends in this kind of shennanigans.

As for the Tigers, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice...

Whatever the outcome I hope both sides can come out of it positively because it's f**ked seeing coaches/players/clubs being dragged through the mud while the media lap it up.
I think that ship has sailed.

I'm just staggered that people are cheering for the 40 and 50+ year old guys who should be the calm voice here versus a 19 year old kid whi apparently some machiavellian mastermind?

If your senior management is getting this emotional in response it's passion outweighing capability.

I think not selecting him in the first grade side is a perfectly reasonable decision.

And any vitriol should be directed to Isaac Moses.

The rest is just media clickbait.

I honestly think when the poor fella finally plays first grade again in 2027, people will scratch their heads and say "what was all the hype about"?

Not selecting is fine.

The media though is really all of the tigers making.

The press release was emotive petty ass covering.

Senior players having a crack him again emotive pettiness.

There's 0 professionalism from the adults in this.

As for the agent. as I said earlier it's very rich for team which was sponsored by ambulance chasers for the years they "developed" him to take the high ground on his selection of an agent.

If you can't deal with sleazy agents don't take a job in professional sports.

TBF there is nothing to stop a player 3 years out from his contract ending telling the club he doesnt intend to extend it. All a trade window does is determine when signing for another club is allowed to be made public.
Yeah true but the concept of signing with another club whilst you still have over a year left is not one I'm aware of happening elsewhere and is the root of these issues.

All I know is that it doesn't happen in the NFL and free agency and the restrictions around who can talk to who and when are the biggest reason for it.

I think the Benji can’t coach angle is interesting. It’s not like it hasn’t been said for over a year everywhere else. Plus Benji retired, did a year or so in media then got a head coach role, probably because it was a poison chalice and he’s a favourite son. Reeked of a Craig Coleman esque signing.
I am sure half the tigers board on here have been saying Benji can't coach for 18 months.

Funny now it comes out from one of the players and its all of sudden wrong.

I think the press release was fine, it put an end to the speculation of him resigning with the club, that would have dragged on.

The players social media stuff can't be justified and is wrong. Remember these guys aren't much older than Galvin, so have a level of immaturity.

The sponsor comment is a non-sequitor and irrelevant to this discourse.

Maybe this is a perfect time for clubs to band together to take the power from Moses. If no club offers a deal, what then??? Seems there is always a club that will sign a player no matter what their discretion.

Self interest will always trump the collective good of the game.

That's the biggest factor that has held back RL for 100 years.

Like with Ezra Mam if the Broncos sacked him.

There would have been a desperate club out there to take a punt straight away even with a 9 game ban.

Even though as a game he should have been deregistered for 12 months.

There will always be self interest with clubs.

Sport is literally built on self interest lol. That's what competition does.

There are degrees though, letting self interest be the sole criteria can lead to a sport becoming irrelevant.

As corrupt as FIFA is, having a transfer system that the entire world adhere to, means that at least those at the bottom of the chain get some reward for their investment in junior development.

A player draft is also something that would be of great benefit to the NRL. People will say "the players dont want it" but in reality its the clubs who are against, especially the bigger clubs who want to be able to recruit whoever they want.

For example in some other sports, Galvin would have to enter into the player draft, and the Tigers would be compensated by either money, draft picks or other players.
