The "private" nature of the post is irrelevant. It was posted, to a platform where it was visible to others who would see it and where it would therefore be reasonably presumed to cause humiliation and hurt to the person it was clearly targeted at.

How can someone be humiliated by something of which they are unaware?
For all I know, members of LU could sharing DM's of memes taking the piss out of me.
But I'm blissfully unaware of this happening, and feel not an ounce of humiliation.
If anyone started posting them publicly, different story.

If this was posted to a private group, Turuva would be within his rights to assume Lachy would not see it.
Posting it to his public feed is a different matter.

Besides, if it was so private, how come every single one of us has seen it?

That is where I'd be focusing my defence efforts - get some forensic analysis of Turuva's social accounts and determine who it was originally shared with, and who then re-posted it for all to see.

The thing I find most interesting in all this, and no one has mentioned it, is surely player managers have an obligation to present all offers to their clients.
They should not be able to outright dismiss an offer off their own bat.

I know when negotiating legal settlements lawyers are bound to act this way.
Surely it is similar for player agents and contract negotiations.
If it's not, it should be.

Look if it gets to a court, then we will all know more than what we know now.
He's not really costing that much to worry about the dollars.
Personally, I'd like to see him kept here at the club to see his contract out.
He's still young enough to play in the U21's.
For me, it's about drawing a line in the sand, it's not the first time this has happened, one was with Moses, who tanked and kicked stones to go to Parra.
I understand the NRL is looking at this incident, so we'll see what comes of that, but I hope the club does not deal with his bloke ever again.

Valid. And tbh that's also a good point, if he wants out so bad use the deed it out or sit in Flegg card.

All I would say is that the club will consider it's own rep in all of this, like any business. The exact reason spurious claims against employers get settled every day, for e.g. You can see from this thread that shit doesn't even have to be true to influence public opinion, see the folks somehow defending Moses.

Ultimately Moses can do a shit tonne of damage if he wants. And he knows it. The club will have a threshold they're willing to take but beyond that it becomes a business decision. Disappointingly, Moses really has more cards in hand than they do here.

This is the sad, ultimate truth in all this.
Hopefully the NRL do find a way to legally make all player managers reapply for accreditation, and they can reject him.

It depends tbh. Quite often a lawyer will have full authority to act on behalf of a client where the legislation allows for it. For eg in an unfair dismissal matter a lawyer can act fully on behalf of a business, but not the person making the claim except in very specific circumstances. So a lawyer authorised to act in that way could straight out reject an offer that's a long way over their instructed max. It's an issue of what authority they're provided.

Not sure how it works with managers tbh. Wouldn't shock me if it's a barely regulated cowboy clown show

ATM, the raging debate on the WT site, before all this dropped was do we drop Galvin for Fainu, tbh, I was on the Galvin side, but the pettiness of the supposed 7 complaints, was a bridge too far for me and many others, so I'm not sure what damage he could do to us atm, and going forward, if we choose not to deal with him.
I believe the only other player we have that's in his camp is Bula and he's only just joined his group, the interesting thing there is, Bula has an option to take up a deal with the club that is worth $900k if he wants it, and this doesn't go to the current management team and tbh, I think it would be strange if he listened to him, he's not that kind of kid.
But then again, I didn't think Galvin was either.

Will be interesting to see how well he ‘develops’ at another club. Unless it’s a top six club, I think it’s fair to say this might not work out as well as he thinks.
I just can't help but think, it's Moses doing deals to other Moses clients, I don't think Moses would care about the kids development.

Nah NSW Cup is fine. Whacking someone on stress leave against their will without a raft of independent medical assessments and a Worksafe investigation (for example) because they make a bulking claim is not. It's probably even an adverse action on top of Moses bullying junk.

And like I said earlier in the thread, I've seen regular plebs (lawfully) sacked for less than what Turuva did under business harassment and bullying policies. So they've fallen right into Moses trap tbh, even if I doubt it goes anywhere.

I'm not at all saying the bullying or any other claims would have legs in the long run, just that Moses absolutely wants them to take that sort of action to give him more ammo to spray in a public shit fight.

sure they can’t force him to take leave, but I’m more saying if he is genuinely having mental issues they can offer it to him if he wants it. Or of course he can just play NSW cup from next week if he is up to it.

Personally I hope the club makes him see out his contract in reserves or lower. It’s what the clubs need to do to take the power back from these money grubbing agents who at the moment have got it in their heads they can get out of any contract they want when it suits them.

frankly the RLPA should step in because this sort of shit is going to wind up forcing an at will system like the NFL where players can be cut without compensation at any time. Especially given the big money coming soon which will make the NRL the richest rugby comp on earth meaning players will have no alternative option to earn similar money

If it wasnt in reply to an attack by Galvin and a public post and repeated behaviour you would have a point.
But it was in reply to an attack on the coach, players, was a private post and was a 1 off.
Plus it wasn’t meant to hurt it was ribbing.

I’m sure there has been a discussion since then. But he isn’t a twat. All players rib their fellows when they get big deals elsewhere. You think Jerome didn’t get ribs?
Only difference is those Panthers didn’t bag the coach and club on the way out to get an early release.
Who is Jerome?

What's all this stuff about bullying? Was Galvin singled out and roughed up at training or something? My first instinct would be to think it's a load of shit considering the parties involved, but after all that not so subtle bashing on social media...
