Galvin

G'day, what do you think of the possibility of an incredibly motivated legal firm taking Galvin's possible workplace bullying case? Just asking guys, be gentle.

I don't think in many cases he'd have much of a leg to stand on, if it was in relation to being dropped to reserve grade.

There have been plenty of players who've been dropped from first grade for not re-signing with their current club. One of the most well known cases, Justin Hodges in 2001 when it was announced he had signed with the Roosters for 2002, he was dropped to Qld Cup and played out the rest of that year at Redcliffe.

I agree with you as far as being dropped goes. Depends on how much they can make of what's been said and posted by players etc.

well let's have a look at the possible suitors.

Parra: have the money. But the coaching which seems to be a major issue doesn't wash. Ryles obviously doesn't have much idea on how to play halfback. The politics is a plus for them though with Bitch being related to the grub who shall not be named. Could he learn more off Bitch (1 x SOO winner) rather than Luai a SOO winner and 4 x premier? Doubtful. Why you would want to return to a club that has shown so little faith in you is beyond me. If you worked for a company that told you you weren't any good at your job and theydidn;t want to waste their time and effort trying to train you up, would you want to return?

Canterbury: Don't have the money as over the last 3 years they would have paid massive overs to get the name players to their club. Can they find the money illegally? You bet they can. Coaching is a plus for them as they have the best up and coming coach (non premiership winning head coach) there is. Politics is a massive plus. Gould has played this whole situation in the media better than the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Is what he has done legal? Yes, but it bloody shouldn't be.

Manly: Don't have the money. They only offered DCE $750k due to salary cap constraints. They would need to shed at least 1 very good player to make it work. Coaching is a massive no. Seibold has had 2 teams with stacked rosters and done absolutely nothing with them. Aside from completely alienating the playing group in Brisbane. He'd also have to carry Brooks' incompetence and would learn nothing from him. Politics is a big plus here, with the grub who shall not be named having a heavy influence over Manly.

Roosters: Have the money and coaching pedigree but won't deal with the grub who shall not be named. Unless of course they decided to change their mind about that.

Penrith: Don't have the money in the cap, or even close to it. All the rest is an attraction, but if they wanted to shed players to get a play-maker back in the team they'd be more likely to try and entice Luai to return.

I think Brisbane may be a smoky in all this. Reynolds money would be high, and if Mam screws up again there's even more. Shift Hunt to half and that would be a major attraction. The Tigers players have probably clued him into Maguire's coaching methods, but he is held in high esteem by the wider RL community, and Galvin hasn't listened to anything, anyone at the Tigers has told him.

My tip remains Canterbury.

Has there been bullying though, has anyone said anything to him, I would think they wouldn't have much to say to him atm?
A couple of SM have surfaced, but were they said in jest, they are footy players, who knows.
And he's been dropped, that's hardly a rare event.

The lowlife scumbag legal profession will be looking at this from every angle. If they sense a $ they'll go for it.

It was from their own personal social accounts so he could go after them personally. That's it. Is it in poor taste? Probably, but that's how young people roll. About the same poor taste as white anting your coach and team mates in an obvious attempt to get out of your contract.

If he's so teary eyed and weak minded about it he can show some intestinal fortitude and decide to sit out the next 18 months like Gordon Tallis did.

The Tigers have handled this well.
There can be no argument about being dropped when Galvin said the coaching staff have nothing to offer him.
Players get dropped all the time with no explanation.
Senior players at any club have the right to tell their coach they no longer want to play with another player.
How about legal action for Galvin slandering Benji's reputation.
How about a court case looking into a player with one years experience in the NRL saying he will get better coaching at another club when he has no experience of other clubs and allegedly has no knowledge of any particular club wanting him.
Lets have a full investigation as to when and why he decided to compile a list of grievances about Benji.

So what was Moses trying to acheive arming himself with this list of grievences???

To get Marshall sacked??
I think they were hoping Galvin would be sacked, but it appears to have backfired on them and I don't think Richo will back down, unless there is a favourable outcome for the club.
He's not costing that much.
We are extremely lucky we have a ready replacement, just waiting for his thumb to heal.
Kinda keen to see how Doueihi goes in the 7, tbh. He's played there before.

lol that fedora wearing f*#k who threatened to sue everyone about a billion times during his reign as chairman and caved every single time?

Re: Feldt He was going to tell Vlandys off but when he staggered back into the ferari there was no 2 points and Pascoe caught the bus home.

Useless merkins.

The solicitor from the castle was better and he couldnt work out how to use his photocopier.

Club signs professional, four time premiership winning half with a resume full of achievements and proven game winning potential but nah, the rookie prodigy thinks he’s the top dog. Bit arrogant don’t you think?
This whole narrative of not being developed properly may have been the case but now you’re angling for yet another release and ignoring the potential development under not only one of the best halves in the game but a club on the rise. No wonder the leadership group is offside.

Good luck to him.

This whole nightmare just doesn't make sense.
We signed him in the middle of the spoon mess Galvin knew about the club's a rock show, benji pushrd hard for his debut then club signs great players and we're on the move.
Proof Benji can coach and the player are all on board.
Galvin gets a huge offer and they won't even look at the offer and quote it's because of Benji's coaching.
How can he or his crew come out and say that.
Rumours he's going to Parra? Wow, how are they going?
All this can backfire on Galvin as he hasn't got the money yet because surely there hasn't been an illegal offer already been made. What assurances has Galvin got?
He could have accepted our huge offer and a chance to play finals then his next contract would still be huge.
It's started already because his reputation and him not acting like a man is already been bandied around as weak and gutless
There are so many things that don't make sense.

I think I just read that Parra are the favorites to get him.

I have probably not been his biggest fan but I'm man enough to admit I've gotten him wrong. I think Galvin has that rare commodity in a young footy player and that is brains. He is either extremely smart or maybe his manager and/or his dad are offering him brilliant advice.

Benji and Luai have both been terribly performing 6's in the NRL comp and now he gets to go and learn under the master play maker Jason Ryles. I can only see big things ahead for this kid. Absolute brilliance.

It's interesting, that Ch9 is running with how badly Galvin has been mistreated (sounds like they don't know the facts) and the footy shows are all in favour of the clubs decisions.
