I thought about going to the effort of keeping time from then on in

when the time restarted it restarted from 38:11 again, it didn’t automatically correct itself

Official Timekeepers - in the bush they are a special breed. If you are playing away you always had to put one of your blokes alongside the shonks at the timekeepers table.
