I really don't get the fascination with the latest Mad Max movies, sorry.

Fury Road, while visually stunning, was garbage.
As far as I could tell, the plot was basically "We're gonna get in our vehicles, then we're gonna drive over there. When we get there, we're gonna turn around and come back".

I really have no interest in seeing most of the "blockbuster" movies which hit the screens these days for the same reason. There's just no story line. All the money is spent on visuals. CGI shits me to tears.

And don't get me started on Marvel movies.

I'm old too mate (just turned 60) and I totally agree with you on movies. I only watched the original Mad Max as I was younger then but I'm not a petrol head so it was just plain boring for me.

I absolutely hate CGI. It's fake, you know it's fake, everyone knows it's fake, there is no realism to it at all.

My 14 year old son is into Marvel and I don't mind them somewhat and I have watched some of them and sometimes the story line is OK. When the action scenes come on, I totally switch off because it will all be explained in the scenes where it is just dialogue.

But any movie that is just shoot 'em up, bash 'em up or overriding violence for no reason holds no interest for me.

I absolutely hate CGI. It's fake, you know it's fake, everyone knows it's fake, there is no realism to it at all.

It looks even worse on the small screen.

I got a 4K QLED tv last year and one of the first things I noticed was just how bad CGI looks in 4K.
It just kills the entire shot for me.
