I have supported the dragons for over 47 years and this side is the worst I have seen. Ever, Although, at the risk of being howled down, I would rather have seen us go to super league or fold all together than have merged with Illawarra. Nothing against the steelers but it was a move to mediocrity which has finally spelled the death nell for this once proud club.
I will not be renewing my membership next year.

Tonights result was predictable IMO as a direct result of last weeks game.

I ranted about how tragic last week was and copped plenty of flack for it because people were happy to bask in the win against the lowly Knights.

We didn't go on with it last week but at least that was after 30 minutes but tonight we didn't go on with it after 6 tackles.

People handed out accolades last week and said how great it was Benji was back and plenty of "lets sign him up for another year or two".

Lots got excited about 30 minutes of football and forgot about the 50 minutes of crap.

Well actually Benji was back tonight, against a side that offered some resistance and how did he really go. Simms had a chance to do something tonight how did he go, Lafai the same and the list goes on.

Even more tragic Aitken is starting to go backwards rather quickly

Our club is like an each way punter trying to get 3 or 4 value for money bets at 20 - 1 the win and 5 -1 the place and always finishing 4th but never willing to put all the money on the nose of a short price favourite.

We must buy
1 x top class half
1 x top class mega size forward
1 x top class hooker

Off load all the duds and get the best quality juniors moving into the top grade.

Phrases like 'it's disappointing', 'it's just not good enough' 'it's not up to our standard', Yada yada yada... all empty words spoken without conviction. The seasons as good as over but surely we must see some changes somewhere before this season is out and some courage to give some younger players a go.

I agree with much of what you have said here, except one thing.

I am not prepared to give up on the club and suspect that by tomorrow morning you will change your mind about not renewing your membership.

Thanks for sharing. I was avoiding the press conference as I knew, with the likes of Mary, it was going to be frustrating. Sounds like he didn't announce his resignation there and then...shame.

I find it disrespectful that you are trying to patronise a supporter of 47 years who has had enough. Only a fool would pay money for a membership for this rubbish. This club is run by morons and the proof is out there on the field. Until it changes no one should be belittled for not watching, paying for or not celebrating in true North Korean dictatorship style, this team.

I am sorry but this is not the Dragons that I know and love. This is a mere shadow. I hope somehow they come to their senses and find a way to bring back our pride and passion and eschew their the jobs for the boys and dollar minded atitudes.

Just on this and my earlier points too, I don't believe we should be making wholesale changes for next game as a result of last night. Let the 20's and Intrust Super Premiership teams continue as they are in the hope that they may be able to make a tilt at their respective premierships. Put everyone in the top grade (coaching staff and playing staff) on notice. Perform or out the door!

Why drop players from the top grade to the Cutters who are only going to bring low confidence into that squad? Why promote the high performing players from either the 20's or Cutters into a system that is clearly broken?

For christ sake Doust, get on the phone to the managers of Michael McGuire, Ivan Cleary and Tony Smith immediately. Surely we can entice at least one of these blokes and that one of them would be up for this challenge? Surely one of these options is better than what we currently have? Surely one of these guys will bring the right people into the fold as well? Surely we can afford to move Mary on from the last year of his contract (we stand to lose much more than his potential pay out if he stays on another year)?

If you can't entice one of the above mentioned, for christ sake give Demetriou a go. Sure, it might be another rookie option, but at least he is outside the boys club that is the current mob and will at least start turning the ship in the right direction if anything at all.

Other than this, I stand by what I said earlier. If we can't (or more like don't want to pay the overs required to) entice established talent from outside the club, then we have no choice but to be patient and nurture the talent we have within our current systems into the top grade.

Sure, it will mean another three years (or maybe even up to five years) of pain (and maybe even a wooden spoon along with it). But if we are fair dinkum about becoming a successful club again, then we need to get back to basics. If we have to go through the pain, lets manufacturer things properly and not just put it together with gaffer tape in the hope that we'll get lucky.

Agree..although with a half decent coach we would be 200% better. Never seen such a rudderless Dragons team in 20 + Years.

It's quite funny when coach and/or captain come out and publicly say that performance is unacceptable and the players didn't turn up, yet every time the very same players get to keep their place in first grade.

Both cutters and 20's been playing really well the last month yet none get a look in....
