Just watched the replay was Holmes tackle really completed before he passed the ball to Maloney who kicked the field goal???

Definitely not. I can't believe the refs were happy to blow the whistle early there, but not for the rest of the 10minutes of golden point. Can't really blame that though, we had about 84 opportunities to win it.

Yeah i was thinking the same. It looked like the tackler had fallen off him and then he passed it from the ground. If that's the case It should have been play on.

The club needs to check if Fifita is still taking his meds and if so up the dose.

The shit is back on his game since origin

Just f**king win one so I can do away with this nonsense.

I call bullshit on all of you who say this. Except for maybe Quigs, maybe.

You'll all be back, especially if we are killing it like this year. Like a smoker says they are giving up right after they stub one out.

Last night when I saw it I thought the same but having just watched it again Holmes falls to the ground and McQueen(?) puts a hand on him before he throws it out the back. Tackled.

The old stress signals were back last night. I felt ill watching that game. My neck and shoulders seized up about half way through. It's amazing that we were even close. This weekend scares me. We just look so tired.

There's a reason why Beale continues to get selected ahead of Loots in the centres. He has displayed a far better understanding of our defensive system than Loots and both Maloney and Feki have way more faith in him.
Birdee Num Num it is a ludricous assertion that Beale is "frequently" caught out. Centre is the hardest defensive position in the game and there isn't a centre in the game who gets it right every time, but Beale is up there in terms of consistency.
At the moment our worst defensive centre is Jack Bird. By a mile. He's running his own race out there and his first contact miss rate is far too high.

my comments, in all reality, are less to do with defense and more to do with attack

imo defensively there is not much that seperates these two players, they're both capable of misreads, and as you said, centre is a difficult position to defend, so why carve luetele up on two bad reads in the game preceeding him getting dropped just because beale was kicking stones on the bench

for the moses of centres who parts the shark park red sea defensively, go watch the first try i think it is vs the kiwis this year and tell me that beale isnt capable of some shit defense himself

Moving on to attack, which is the crux of my reason for brining this up once again, loots hands down is a more potent option in attack, he punches the hard yards off the line better, he has superior footwork, is capable of tackle busts and line breaks and has scored tries this year that beale could only dream to. Thats not to say beale cant do good stuff in attack, he can, but its not enough for me and relying on others to create the room or the overlap is something that is standing out like the preverbial. One on one he is basically 0 chance of creating any opportunity or beating his man.

The game against the titans was a tired one, its is heavily underestimated what value loots would have brought to that game, particularly in the early yardage stakes in the 0-30 metre zone with his ability to poke his nose thru the defensive line and get a good start to our set. Our forwards struggled to get back on side and we were going no where.

This alone is something we sorely miss at the very least

Ha, you're probably right. Be good to find out one way or the other.

Beale has reached his peak & imo, it has never been that great but I understand people see the good things he does, more than I.

However, Leutele has finally come good as a first grader, surprisingly when Flanno signed him to his first long term deal. Most other players work in reverse, step it up as the deal expires.

I'd like to see us persist with him but do think he has to earn his spot back, just like Beale had to. Nothing wrong with some competition. If Leutele does get another shot, I'm dubious whether he can recapture the form he had before he was hurt...took him a long time to get there.

Main thing is, it's depth.

You are (half) concerned about me wanting to give the whole f**king NRL a big miss.

Frizzel just got a week. I rest my case.

The bloody weak as piss Players Association should instruct all players not to shake the whistle blowers hands at the end of the game. Don't touch the farkwits at all.

The game is being stuffed by experts.

I agree Quigs.
you only have to read some of the comments on some of the general NRL pages on FB, I mean does Greenberg actual do any research into what the fans are saying?? If he does he would be shitting a new NRL office of bricks.
