If the shoe was on the other foot and we were a competitive team going to commbank after 2 years of being away I’d feel zero confidence. Yet we are the hosts and I still feel worried.

Alot what happens moving forward starts today, we need shark park to be a place teams don’t want to go. Limited capacity makes that hard. We need to make it loud today.

sharks by 4. Rain as normal. Upup

I hope i end up having egg on my face for this but that bench is not the best is it. You want impact more and more these days and we've got 1 absolute plodder, one player who's returning from well over a year off who's more of the steady type anyway, fifita who's best is years ago and only talakai who can offer a change in tempo. Gonna be an old fashioned flanno ball grind me thinks.

I'm with you Ozzi. I've tipped us in the tipping comp but I'm sorely tempted to change. Surely the Fitz-era sees the end of us shitting the bed on occasions such as this though...

For the Royce omission I think Fitz is looking for someone who can play a lot of minutes and still be defensively sound.

Of the four originally picked on the bench, I dare say Tolman is the only one who fits that description. As the season wears on, and the players get more minutes into their legs, that will no doubt change. For now though, it's probably the right call.

Parra are a big pack that play a direct power game. When on top Paulo will then start offloading. Our middles (apart from Finucane) did not handle Canberra last week either stopping momentum or offloads from Tapine and Papa. Big test for them today. Toby and BHU have to match Paulo and RCG physically.

Sharks can't try to win pretty. Have to get in the contest and win contact and line speed. Should be fun to see how they go.

I get the feeling they’ll use McInnes off the bench just given how long he has had out. Parra are huge so they are going with a safe bench here.

anyway might crack a beer. I’ll be there at 3. Can’t wait

Not a bad thing I’d suggest, it’s our (winning) way.
