I like what Metcalfe brings , don't know much about him except what i read on hear and a couple of cameo's but jesus he doesn't die wondering , brings what Walsh does for the Warriors , a little bit of x factor , might end up being lite weight but i'd like to see more of what he could bring to this team .
The game is changing , speed , speed and more speed so we need some of those young generation players that play with a little bit of the no fear . If Ronnie is a bit busted i would put CT to wing , he looks a different player when he plays from out there , and give this kid some longer minutes in the halves and tell him to have a crack , and tell the rest of the team to keep up .
This season is done , and i'm not spewing , so let's try a few different things with the players that are going to be here next season . If we step out with the same starting lineup next week i will be pissed off .

The game right now is that f**king bad, I would not introduce a new person to the sport. It's a ref-a-thon of boredom and jumping at shadows and ultimately conclusions, based on a video screen from people up in the f**king grandstands.

Worst I can ever remember mate. The favouritism is so obvious as well. The game is screwed

I’m with you. It’s f**king shut at the moment.
The NRL got their wish, knights rate higher for the semis.

It was a tougher performance from our guys, ruined by some shitty refereeing and knights players laying down

Players like ponga and Walsh are good enough without laying down every time some one tackles them

Shit like that is ruining the game

Anyone else think that Tracey was a million percent better in his minutes as a winger??
Yes, and I'd say Trindall would play with a lot more confidence and calmness if he had an established and experienced halves partner.

I was pleased to see a decent effort from most of our forwards today, which unfortunately got wasted by some poor errors. I won't mention the refereeing which the rest of youse have covered.

Luke Metcalfe's late break might have led to something had he had better ball security, inexperience.

That and the fact he was falling / trying to regain balance.

Was pretty unlucky really.

Probably the most comments I have seen on social media about the shithouse ref today. He had the whistle going before some incidents today. that's how blatantly bias the cnt was

Three major refereeing decisions that had a MAJOR impact on the game:

1. BHU makes a great tackle on Kurt Mann, dislodging the ball, then picks it up and goes 40 m downfield: RESULT: On Report…

2. We push the Knights player in goal: RESULT: Penalty Knights

3. Knights player loses ball in tackle: RESULT: Penalty Knights

DISGUSTING.

Im not disappointed in yesterday - because we won that game…

Don’t forget the two penalties to newcastle for us being offside after they’d thrown it in to touch, or the penalty to ponga which sealed the win for them. The nikora push in the back on ponga. Where is nikora meant to go? What about the crusher tackle on Ramien they put Klemmer on report for 3 tackles later when newcastle got the ball, but didn’t go back and give us a penalty for like they did the previous night to Parramatta? The play leading to our awful captains challenge included a metre forward pass from Jayden Brailey from dummy half. I can hack it when cronulla get beat, even when calls do go against us, most of the time they probably wouldn’t have changed the result. Yesterday, the result of that game was managed by the ref in the middle and the dickhead in the bunker.

Can seem like sour grapes blaming refs but this game and the loss against souths shows blatant favouritism/outright cheating to manufacture results. We need a media darling like ponga or cleary in the team to have things go our way it seems.

I don’t even think it was so much to do with getting the knights in the 8, I think it’s more to do with making sure the Titans are there. A win to us yesterday would have potentially made it a little bit harder for them.

They reffed the game like they’d been revising tip sheets on the Sharks players all week.
Ball come out, Woods is in the tackle = must be stripped
Big hit resulting in dropped ball, Sharks prop in the tackle = must have been high contact
They throw ball in touch when attacking our line = Sharks offside
Ponga falls over = Sharks targeting him off the ball

etc etc…. now I like Checcin, think he’s the best ref by a mile, but he had a stinker, alongside the bunker - anything that was even close to being 50/50 or slightly debatable went their way. Awful performance.

But as is often the case, the game was still there to be won, and we shit the bed, again.

I’m new as of this post, I’ve been reading the stuff on here for a couple of years and I’m impressed and intimidated by the quality and passion of discussion conducted In this forum.
I would like to add my 2cents worth,
The team have don’t have specialist centre’s this takes our 2 strongest try scores out of the game, Johnson and Moylan knew how to bring them in through cut out passes and kicks to the corners, our current halves don‘ have that in the play book at this stage of their careers. Without Moylan‘s passing game Kennedy playing off the back is slow and ineffective.
Last season everyone wrote Kennedy off including me, he was a light weight who got pushed back in every tackle, he fumbled more kicks than he caught and his passing game was poor, he has earned his place, Trindall if given the time will come on and be a number 7 the team needs.
The front row that was on show yesterday are not up to scratch but with the 2 stellar players coming into the team next year we have 6 great back rowers but only 1-2 props, this can work if a game plan is created that incorporates their strengths, one plan that has been exploited against the Sharks this year is offloads, the current players don’t do this enough and struggle to defend against it. In Metcalf and Tracey we have speed that can tear teams appart if they hunt in the middle of the field as players like Rudolf and Williams constantly at track 3 defenders and just having the quick players close by will ensure defenders will have be on the ready for second phase play.
The game is ready for a shake up, Cronulla need to move forward and create a new direction for the team, don’t copy what other teams do, forget the smash and bash way Cronulla has played in the past this is not that style of team and the game has changed so much in the past 2 years, we have the makings of a premiership team but the game plan is wrong.

Hannay is correct about that bullshit call of held when they carried the player into in goal. He called held as soon as the Sharks players made contact eventhough he was still moving. This was the most bs call I have ever seen in a long time and really questions the integrity of the game
