Right, lets change the topic for just one thread.

Who is pumped? Who is ready to turn up and cheer our boys on to what will hopefully be a huge victory today.

I can feel a big performance today, come on boys.

Channel Nine just mentioned that we - the supporters - are meeting at 4.30pm and walking in en mass - has there been anything organised to show unity?

Nothing in here about it. Must be the CSSC doing that. I wish i could get to the game. Really need all the support they can get at the moment.

The son of one of the Sharks' greatest players has rallied fans of the beleaguered club to join in solidarity before they play the Titans at Sharks Stadium on Sunday in what will surely be the most emotion-charged season opener in the club's 46-year history.

Don Rogers, of the Cronulla Army, and son of club legend the late Steve Rogers, said Sharks fans were being asked to meet outside the ground at 4.30pm before walking in en masse as a show of unity with the club.

''We'll all be wearing our blue, black and white, and demonstrating we're not going anywhere,'' he said.

''We hope the club's not going anywhere, and we hope Flanno [stood-down coach Shane Flanagan] isn't going anywhere, and we're looking forward to October.'' Rogers said the club's support base was shocked at the situation, which was becoming ''progressively more concerning''.

''Cronulla fans were so excited, considering we've recruited so well,'' he said. ''We've been building for a couple of years and come through some hard times. This whole thing just stinks. I just hope the players can gel tighter and they get the support of the club, and they know the Sharks fans are there for them.''

A capacity crowd of more than 20,000 is expected for the 6.30pm fixture. ''Everyone's behind the boys 100 per cent, and we're still confident of a good year,'' Rogers said.

The Cronulla-Sutherland Supporters Club was keeping quiet on Saturday. But lifelong Sharks supporter Phill Cannan said many fans wanted more information about the situation. ''I want to know why they've done what they've done so I can understand it better,'' he said. ''If they've done something wrong they've got to be held to account, but you can't hold someone to account unless you know what's going on.''

Cannan rejected claims the drama could spell the end for the Sharks, saying the club's finances were stronger now. He said merchandise was sold out, and the biggest crowd would turn up on Sunday since the ground's southern stand was completed. ''If it came out the guys were doing wrong, and they knew they were doing wrong, then I'd be filthy on them,'' he said. ''But I wouldn't stop following the club.''

Frenzy.

What time is the first game?

Where is this mob marching into? The ground or the club? I heard a rumour about a meeting in the club at 17:00 hrs.

all stands sold out

I picked up 2 tickets in the away supporters bay. Biggest q I have seen at Ticketek 5 hours before first grade. Mixture of people. Families, girls, diehards. Saw some girls outside the Southern Stand with a massive banner. Good on em. Should be a decent crowd. Typical in touch Sharks staff. I joked with the ticket seller it takes a scandal to get a big crowd. She replied 'Titans are always popular and its a nice day'. Future board member i reckon.

It's hard to get excited with the cloud hanging over our heads but at least I can focus on the game for an hour or so and maybe talk a bit of footy for a change, I mean thats what I'm here for, right?

I am taking the good camera gear just in case.

Also
I was pretty stoked to see some many people getting around in there sharks gear this morning.
Lots of bloke in their 40's for some reason.

Gonna be a weird arvo.

I think the feeling of despair might turn to Argo.

I know I am f**king filthy that another season is rooted
by off field shit.
Sorry
Yes pumped... Might kick the dog .

I cant be there. Work , family commitments and distance unfortunately . I will wear the Retro Sharks jersey down to the Caboolture Sportsclub to watch the game . Good luck to all the fans going to the game .I hope the emotions of all are evident without getting Agro.
I am going to try to get down for round 4. Hope there will be a game to see.

About to catch the train in now. Agree that it feels like going to a funeral. Can't wait for the other clubs to be named so we can get a moments break from this shite.

I live OS so no chance but I'll be at the local proudly wearing the colours.. Already saving for the flight home in October.. All this talk about folding is just rubbish.. We're not the first or last club to face a scandal FFS.. Important thing is still to win footy games. End of story
