Chances are BM is a cult leader. He was killed day one and then purposefully left off the alive list, probably so nobody would think to role block him and he could get at least one successful recruit.

I doubt his life/death depends solely on a single character targeting him, more likely a certain amount of recruits, or a protection chain of some kind (combination of the two).
