Watched the game live and we played terribly for most of the game.
We lost to the Knights 14 to 6.
Roberts was just about rocks again.
Sandow was pedestrian for most of the game
Hayne looked injured and played an average game.
Tonga was quiet all game.
It looks like we played our best game against Manly last week.
We were seriouisly SHOCKING.
Morgans defence was so much better than last week.
Sio & Blair played well. Blair stuffed up a few times in defence.
Our kicking game was very average. Keating and Sandow put in some terrible kicks.
Mannah & Fui played well in patches. Timmy gave away very good possession a few times.
Shit, just how frustrating it is watching our club play like this.
We really went backwards, back, back, back, to the dim dark ages of the first four rounds.
:(:(

Would have to agree with all of this 100%

Agree. I have to admit, I dared to hope after last week's performance, but it's quite clear we are not going to be competitive this year and are just not a top 8 side.

It's depressing to give up on a season so early, but I just can't see how we are going to improve to any great degree.

Seriously, we need a few extra mongrel players in our forward ranks, players who've got a lot of spark to fire up our squad when we start playing flat and need to break a snoozy spell.
I still reckon getting SBW for whatever $$$$ is worth the risk & Foran at 6..
They both have mongrel, heaps of confidence and will push ahead when the going gets tough.

8. JWH
9. Keating
10. Mannah
11. SBW
12. Fui
13. Reni (c)

14. Ben Roberts or bring up a junior or get someone like Segreato (however you spell his name from the Cowgirls)
15. Poore (on a cheaper contract - he will get better if he remains injury free).
16. Allgood - he will get better with age and experience and a bigger body size.
17. T-Rex or Paulo or whoever else we buy in the meantime, preferably a line breaking second rower

1. Hayne
2. Sio
3. Tonga
4. Loko
5. Blair
6. Foran
7. Sandow

f**k $BW, the ridiculous amount of money we would have to throw at him would insure we don't have enough to keep Hayne.

SBW is a complete f**kwit, expecting to be the highest paid player in the NRL. He's a 2nd rower FFS!!

There is such a thing as a salary cap.

Am not sure SBW said this or implied this?
Could this again be media hype?
Or is it true?
Do we have any first parties present when this was said by SBW?

We have to do something to gain that edge that will lead us to being a serious premiership force again.
We just don't seem to have the stock to get into a winning GF position and may have to wait for up to five years before our juniors come through and mature into such a dominant force.
SBW on a 1 year contract is well worth the risk.
Better than most of the players we've signed last season or this one on 2 or 3 year contracts.

There is such a thing as brown paper bags too ;-) :sarcasm:

Actually, with the Cap going up and letting go of Burt, Hindy, B Smith, possibly Poore and a few other players may create sufficient space to get most of these players and fit in William Hopoate too.

According to a report in Rugby League Week, the All Black wants about $800,000a year to return to league from rugby union, will only accept a one-season deal and must be free to continue his professional boxing career in league's off-season.

$800,000 a year and only a one year deal?

800k for a 2nd rower  And a complete dickhead to boot.

Will someone from our club come forward to back this claim?

Come on Spags or SK or Nolan, spill the beans, is this true?

People close to SBW and there are many around him, both here and abroad don't say that about SBW.
He seems to maintain his close friendships longterm.

Anyway, even for a $800k 1 year deal, SBW might just inject the type of mongrel attitude our club needs right now so we can move forward fast again.

Would take him 12mths to get back into the swing of league

Biggest waste of money in history if we got him

No thanks

casper you are a goose

Thanks for the awesome compliment Raudonikis.

GEESE FACTS

Next fall when you see geese heading south for the winter... flying along in V formation...you might consider what science has discovered as to why they fly that way:

As each bird flaps its wings, it creates an uplift for the bird immediately following. By flying in V formation the whole flock adds at least 71% greater flying range, than if each bird flew on its own.

People who share a common direction and sense of community can get where they are going more quickly and easily because they are traveling on the thrust of one another.

When a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of trying to go it alone... and quickly gets back into formation to take advantage of the lifting power of the bird in front. If we have as much sense as a goose, we will stay in formation with those who are headed the same way we are.

When the head goose gets tired it rotates back in the wing and another goose flies point. It is sensible to take turns doing demanding jobs...with people or with geese flying south.

Geese honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep up their speed. What do we say when we honk from behind?

Finally...and this is important...when a goose gets sick or is wounded by gunshots, and falls out of formation, two other geese fall out with that goose and follow it down to lend help and protection. They stay with the fallen goose until it is able to fly or until it dies, and only then do they launch out on their own, or with another formation to catch up with their group.

If we have the sense of a goose, we will stand by each other like that.
