The trouble with the " a win is a win he happy" philosophy is when push comes to shove and you have not truly reflected or improved on things despite the wins when the losses come they are ugly and oft repeated
Not taking the chance to strengthen whilst winning ugly normally ends in disaster
We were poor against Warriors and Tigoies and the chickens came home to roost today
The question is what will the coach do to arrest our slump because that what we're in despite the 2 recent wins which were very lacklustre?
What will the coach do , Like he did last year ...... Nothing . Nothing will change ....

Well, that's the only truly bad game we've played all year, so yes, some of those other options you mentioned are probably more prudent than what you're doing now.

We were supposed to be finishing bottom four. People had us getting the spoon instead of the Knights. We're currently fourth and only need four wins from our next eleven games to guarantee finals. Mary has done a phenomenal job turning the team around. If nothing has changed in two or three weeks, then I'll join you in your concern but you're overreacting quite a bit.
Well OK then - I am glad you feel so positive about the future and can rationalize today's performance by quoting the "pundits" that had tagged us as favourites for the wooden spoon.
Unfortunately, this has been brewing for a while.
We were fortunate to beat the Tigers last week and we have been outplayed by all the top Teams.
The point is we also get out coached.
Can't you see that?
So at this stage I prefer to overreact than kid myself that all is rosy.

Those two tries they scored when the ball was bouncing around was the turning point for me. There was no urgency to get to the ball.
The break that Dugan made showed two things, he does not have the pace fullbacks need to have these days, he didn't look for support, even though there was a player on his left.
These flick passes are unnecessary, they look great when they work, today showed what happens when they dont.
Their backs snuffed out any attack from us and we panicked.
The first half defence from us was awsome to keep them scoreless. We just didn't repeat that in the second half.

Hess said he isn't ready to play state of origin but QLD have selected him.

Point is we need more elusiveness and speed in the back line if we are to score more points
No point in having elusiveness and speed when said players would end up on a stretcher. This isn't the Holden Cup mate.

You've got to be kidding, he is the only player that looked dangerous. He cleaned up, defended and gave a number of good passes to his outside men who didn't capitalise.

He should have been awarded a try, the second one in two weeks that has been disallowed. We are going to miss him. If anyone on this forum thinks that the young guys are going to give us what Dugan provides they're dreaming.

Today and every other game has proved that Dugan is not a superstar and not worth 1mill. 1mill players are paid that couse they are match winners. I cant remember the last time Dugan won a game for us.
He is a good player but not what he thinks he is.

If you want to find fault, look no further than our halves. These are the games we need them to take control and manage the way the team is playing.

Also, why the hell was De Belin back to his "ball playing" out the back. Start of the year he was hitting the ball in hard and offloading, not passing before the line.

And why the hell did we revert back to trying to play the sweeping backline second man play. Our strength has been hitting into the line and offloading and we decide for some unknown reason to start playing like we did last year.

God I hate waiting 10 days after a scrappy, clunky, ugly win, to watch my team turn up and play like that. Was utterly disappointing. I've seen some frustrating games in recent years and that is certainly up there with some of the worst. There are no excuses for such an ill-discliplined, lacklustre effort when a top 4 spot is actually there for the taking. That loss will probably be crucial come the end of year.

The Dogs have a professional grade coach who devised a plan to beat the Dragons. Mary is a one trick pony and can't adjust when things are going wrong. Never should have been extended.

A professional grade coach that lost the 4 previous games.

I'm not sure how you think that Hassler out coached Mary. There was no spectacular game plan on display today and he basically employed the same game plan he has over the previous 4 games.

Our team was flat and attack was dismal. It wasn't our usual game as we made uncharacteristic mistakes that allowed them to get on top. Defending non-stop for the first 20-30 minutes ensured we had nothing left in the tank at the back end of the game where they put on the extra 2 tries.

No excuses - the attack was far from what we had enjoyed previously. They need to get back to the drawing board and work it for next week.

Well that was disappointing. Looks like watching 2012 to 2016 all over again. Some really dumb options taken by some of our players. Bulldogs too big and too strong as per usual.

Certainly not our day.Cummings (ref)murdered us. The first 20min was outrageous. 3 straight penaltise ,grubs 90% of the ball,6attacking sets in a row ,he made us tackle ourselves to a standstill. Then the 2nd half we had nothing left.Thats how you do it, to get a team beaten.

To add to that they seemed to have an eternity in the ruck and slowing it down. It was so frustrating. No excuses though. We need to be better at recovering from that or milking those penalties.

Yes, let's forget about the Eels game. That was worse than today's game. Call me the glass half empty but I expected this loss. Unfortunately the coach has just resigned.

Our strength this year has been our roll forward. push through the line and play it quickly. In this game the dogs were allowed to slow that down, but we need to adapt and use some ploys to negate this, such as hitting the deck sooner instead of looking for "post contact metres", not offloading just for the sake of it but reverting back to the old "hit and spin", don't run it one out, don't run cross field. The dogs were moving up and in very fast, stand deeper and pass the ball past the centre defender.

I'm in two minds whether to actually post this comment because I know it could attract a lot of negative comments. This game is what worries me about re-signing Widdop, I am not convinced that his game management is up to speed. I do not dispute that he has good games but I am concerned that when it gets tough he does not lead.

Frawley and Mbye outplayed our halves by a large margin, especially Frawleys kicking. Compared to our kicking and, it doesn't matter whether we look at McCrone or Widdop, it is poor.
