Anyone think that Atkinson is ordinary?

And yes caveat, he is only in his 10th game but gee Stonestreet looked pedestrian again.
Looks gassed from running out of the tunnel.
For someone supposedly with speed he was nowhere near those trick shots.

Hynes has got to be busted. He looks way to heavy footed with no turn of speed, this early in the year.

Ramien tried hard.

AFB did what he had to do. Be nice someone sniffing around every hit up.

Just once I want a guy the other team looks at and won’t run toward. The dogs halves bashed us as well.

Anyway…
Average performance, we seemed tired. Dogs on the up, take our top 4 spot this year I’d say. 6 weeks away, good job Dino, great way to get momentum.

AFB played big minutes.

Thank f**k he can because if he’s not out there at the moment we are lacking consistent punch.

Couldn’t be f**ked listening to the presser so has ChatGPT do it for me and provide a precis:

Following the Cronulla Sharks’ 20-6 defeat to the Bulldogs in Round 4 at Sharks Stadium, head coach Craig Fitzgibbon and captain Cameron McInnes addressed the media. They acknowledged the Bulldogs’ strong performance and expressed disappointment in their own execution and discipline during the match. Fitzgibbon emphasized the need for the team to learn from this experience and improve in upcoming games. McInnes highlighted the importance of maintaining focus and resilience, especially when facing adversity on the field. Both reiterated their commitment to addressing the issues and preparing thoroughly for the next fixture.

The huge variation in focus and intensity from the first half against Souths to last night was not a good sign.

It all started from not having dummy half from the drop out on the full. That showed a lack of stuational awareness and there is no excuse. It was amateurish.

They were well behind physically and mentally before the bench situation became an issue. As Penrith have done in recent in recent years, dial up the physical intensity and see if the Sharks can match it and they don't. This is what has to be addressed before they will progress as a unit.

Our depth will really be tested next week.
Pebbles has been struggling to back up week in week out and looks shot, I won’t be surprised if he won’t play Thursday.

I’d go Hiroti on the wing, Britton to Center with Hohepa on the edge with Burns being the 4th forward on the bench.

I think Ricky's boyz will be missing a few too. Papali-eye was put on report twice and a with couple of others, the match review mob might have a bit to say.

Saw most of the game. It’s starting to become a little bit of a concern how many tries we are bombing. We created a few opportunities and totally blew them. Then we got suffocated by their defence and had no plan b.

nicho was totally MIA. Trindall was pretty shit. Overplayed his hand. Kennedy won’t be getting any dally m points for that one.

agree with whoever else said it, they seemed off and not cohesive before the loss of iro and Talakai.

Also, first half, we had no dummy half off a change over, turn over.. Rudolf finds his front and gets a nice quick play the ball, nicho is off on the front foot and has no one with him.. is this the Vegas affect?

Just watched the 'highlights'. Some of those defensive efforts were ordinary. Its only early in the season, but next week's game should tell us a fair bit.

Add in the Tigers game last year too - when teams turn up with the baseball bats and want to belt 10 shades of shit out of us, we invariably just take our beating.
The Mahoney ‘attack’ on the ground, compared to our placing hands on their prone player is the perfect example. The dogs came to fight and scrap, to physically hurt us and hopefully get the win, we turned up wanting to play rugby and try and win - there’s a big difference, and we struggle against teams when they turn up with that type of attitude. Long gone are the days of Gal et al who would relish that physical hatred battle. We’re now the type of team who go around advocating how ‘strong’ it is for men to cry publicly.
