Just watched the replay. Great 1st 50 minutes but nearly blew it. Too many errors, bounce of the ball didn’t go our way and the defence looked exhausted.
But hung in there and managed to come out with a win!! Great effort all round.

Yea the last 25mins was rough but gees it was nice seeing different points of attack in the first half.

For the last 18mths it’s felt like 9 times out of 10 we’d either run the same right side shape, try crashing through the middle, or put up a kick.

But from early last night when Metcalf put Kosi away for on the left, to when he popped up outside of CHT on the same side to score his second… so so good to watch.

Still lots to keep working on obviously but hopefully that’s what SJ knew was coming when he said we could go a long way earlier in the week.

I’m fine with that result. It didn’t affect play and we were well downfield when it would’ve been pulled up. Had it resulted in a concussion then bin him.
It was a straight shoulder to the head though?

Regardless of whether a player is injured or concussed, that’s the stuff that needs stamping out so I absolutely believe it should’ve been a bin.

I’m glad the bunker didn’t interfere and stop play, Metcalf actually scored a couple tackles later and thankfully it didn’t affect play as you say, or the result. But IMO that was still a bad miss from Gee and his touchies.

Thats why I'm happy with it just going to the judiciary. We got the advantage and scored, and the player was punished eventually, I'm not really concerned that we didn't get a 13 on 12 advantage out of it when we were on a roll anyway. If our player had stayed down and gone off for an HIA though then absolutely bin him to even the score.

Any idea why he ignored the warriors challenge on the 7 tackle set that wasnt? I thought he was pretty poor to be honest.
I'm not sure thats actually a situation you can legally challenge as he hadn't called a halt to play. It was just a straight up miss by the ref. The bunker shouldve called it back.

Some of the numbers were nutcase-ery from the weekend

Clark 69 minutes in the middle, 204m, 81 post contact, 46 tackles at 100% efficiency. Like what sort of motor is that nine weeks in when you've played as many minutes as he has?

Leka 80 minutes at 19 years old, 145m 63 post contact and 35 tackles

Captain outstanding Barnett, 134m and 46 tackles

I still shake my head about Capewell, as much as I thought he played well again. 29 tackles and 10 missed, according to nrl.com. He's very comfortably top of the NRL's missed tackle count.
