Ha. He was probably as much use up there as anyone was at Parra I suppose.

Gasneir was the only bastard who knew what he was trying to do last night .

Gas has been given the week off, so he has gone up to Nth Qld, he is great mates with Willie Mason and also Brett Firman..
When Firman was at Saint's and broke his leg while playing reserve grade against Newtown, Gasnier spent alot of time visiting him in hospital, still good mates...
Gas hangs out with Mason, and also is good mates with the Canterbury NSW connection as well...

a very relaxed attitude by gaz and the entire club...couldn't imagine a storm player being able to do this...i think this attitude should change

Or any other player for any other club for that matter. That's disgraceful!!!

I think its a disgusting attitude by management to allow it. Especially considering the plight we are in/and even were in before friday night. If he's recovering from "injury" then he should have been in conditioning for his return, not f#cking around in Far Nth Qld with a rival club.

Would they have allowed the likes of Isemonger, Wicks, Sims to do the same when they were recovering from injury?? Seems as though they'll let elite players do what they want.

Just re-iterates to me that our club currently lacks the professional attitude we so vitally need to compete. Our results on the paddock show it.

who is it that makes these decisions for these players?
is it the coach or higher management?

I think its good...give him time off and some time to go and relax. I really dont have any problems with it because it's not like we do it all the time and Gaz has earnt it.

On the surface it looks like he was given the week off, that's all. Perhaps I'm in the minority but I don't see what all the fuss is about. Not every club is run in the same manner. And we simply are not privy to the reasoning behind the decision.

He's been our best player most of the year, playing with injury the last few rounds. He hasn't enjoyed a weeks rest for the bye due to rep commitments, and Brownie has mooted resting him for a while now. What he does in his own time is his own business. Non event.

A few years ago a senior canterbury forward had the week off and didn't show at his clubs match . He was read the riot act .

At least Big Willie went to a concert in the same state as his clubs match!

He didnt get permission for that little excursion though - I agree non-event. We arent privvy to the behind the scene details, and if the club thinks he needs a week off to get his head space right then Gaz son - go and come back refreshed.

Why is this even an issue? Gaz has played alot of footy at a high standard this season and if the club thinks a couple of days off would help him freshen up a bit, so be it. What help would he have been on the sideline? Just another excuse for people to attack the management.
