If we lose Wade cos we can't afford to upgrade him properly there is gonna be a lot of anger aimed at Toops. He better play out of his skin if he stays

It doesn't have to effect keeping Wade or anyone else. Just backend the deals like everyone else.

The four-year deal is valued at over $2 million, but it wasn't until this week that Sharks bosses learned the contract gave Tupou an option for a fifth season that will carry him into 2013.

Why? Not knowing significant options like this is amateur hour

Any 5 year deal for someone who is not your best player is a bad deal. Terrible contract from zappia

Interesting though as even in the pre season Tupou was talking about being off contract.

Oh ffs!

Surely this 5th year option isn't for the same amount of money?

If so no club will ever offer Toops that and we will be stuck with him. If Toops had any morals he would walk. He owes us big time.

Offer him a 2 year deal on lower terms and see if he accepts. Would like to see how he would go in the current team. He would love running off carney.

Twopoo doesn't fit the style of play seen this year for the Sharks. He's irrelevant as a footballer to us, struggling, wriggling & shoving, only to go backwards, stiffle the play or spill the farkin pill.

For a bloke who's strong, he's sure wasted that asset on nulifying the attack. Goes OK in defence but man, can he stem the flow of a set play or left side raid. So much promise & delivered so little talent.

A bit like that overhyped by any presenter on CH9 show for The Voice. FMD, has there ever been a more overrated TV show? Like handing someone a gift wrapped turd & anxiously awaiting a thankyou.

Yep...in his prime at the Rorters he had the speedwhich allowed that bulk to bust out the other side.

But with bad knees and age he is pretty much a tackling bag for younger, bigger defences.

But....if coach Sharpe can tinker with him in the same vein as he as the rest of the side, just maybe...

Hasnt been worth the coin but In recent seasons I think he has been the only one that actually looked dangerous with ball in hand. You can't really say he has stifled the attack he never had anybody running off him & still looked good with the limited poor service he received.
He would be great running off Carney.

A fit Toops could be a massive bonus in the final rounds of this season. He is a much better option off the bench then Taga!

Personally I think toops has not shown enough in 3 years for me to think otherwise. He makes my top 5 dud shark signings in the over 300k category
