yeah, it sounds like france played a damn sight better than we did.

i'm watching it agin now (dunno why actually! :lol: ) and i still say we didnt play at all well, but some of the handling skills on display were out of this world, the part that led to the 12-0 scoreline was amazing.

well played, but i hope we at least do ourselves justice next time, and make a game of it

Sadly...Phil Gould was right in his pre game comments...I hate it when I find myself agreeing with him...but the Australians play more games at a higher intensity than the Poms which makes a difference at times like that. State of Origin is a big step up from a club game here which is for the most part a step up from ESL. Internationals are a sideways move for the State of Origin players in intensity, hence they know about the pressure and what it takes to get the job done when it matters.

It wouldn't have mattered if the ref kept a good 10, 12, 15 or 3, Australia would have rolled GB on that particular day in those circumstances....GB have come a long way though...bright side is that in their last 6 tests, that is the first blow out. Go backa few years and blow outs like that were more common place.

It is part of the Australian psychie to enjoy beating the Poms at ANYTHING but, all parochialism aside, it is time for the Poms to get real and stop kidding themselves. It is crystal clear that Australia are STILL WAY superior to any other league nation in the world. Facts: 1) the gap between them and others is still a chasm 2) GB selectors continue to select players on reputation 3) GB have a "losing" culture. IMO Andy Farrell is the MOST overated player in the world, Keith Senior has no heart and Sean Long in absolutely inept. As I said, my opinion as I know the Pom supporters will blah..blah.. about that statement, but I think I am speaking from an objective position. When Australia played with normal ball movement through the backline and played second-phase, the Poms looked like a reserve grade side. Until their establishment gets honest with themselves and stops talking themselves up, prune out the dead-wood andintroduce their up-and-coming young players, their game will go nowhere. Just my opinion.

They've had 3 cracks at Australia since Ashes 2001 and have lost all series, they came over to Australia and were flogged. They better start looking at those facts and stop believing their own hype.

Maybe it`s time we started bull$hitting the Aussies before a big game instead of bulling ourselves up . We should be fawning all over the Aussies ,telling them what Supermen they are , but privately telling ourselves the opposite. This in itself may be bull but we have to start building the Aussies up rather than ourselves . I`m getting more and more pi$$ed off with hearing how THIS is the time to stand up and be counted only to find we`re stood on our knees again . At least if we build the Aussies up and we get flogged we`ll just turn around and say it`s just what we expected from them . If we were lucky enough to win ( please please please God ) then what a "fantastic" victory it would be . I absolutely detest losing to what is the most unsporting race in the world by a mile . However I`m just glad that I have been privileged enough to be around to see some of the finest football and the finest players who have ever pulled on a pair of boots .
