I can't upload the video, there is a video which shows Nathan, Ivan and Bec, visiting a die heart supporter, who is brain damaged, as a result of a car accident.

The issue is they don't want to work hard and it shows on field. This period is necessary to build the hardworking culture for the club we went through it ourselves.
During my military service, I attempted airborne forces selection, a six month process. On the final day when they announced who passed and who failed, they call out your name and you stand to attention while they call "pass" or "fail". They do the announcements in alphabetical order. Obviously, as Pomoz I was waiting for them to get to the "P's". and I was stunned when the best soldier in the group, a "B" was told he failed. He always finished in front of me and just about everbody else on every test. They told him that though he was superbly fit and tough, he was lazy, didn't push himself and help his team. "Come back when you have some character" they said.

"Character" is playing a grand final with a broken leg. "Character" is being the smallest man on the field and running into the teeth of the forwards to be belted, time and time again. How do we have three of the smallest players in the NRL in the top 5 for metres run in 2023? Not size. Not speed. Character.

"Character" is the Panthers secret weapon. We can't razzle dazzle like the Broncos, we don't have geniuses like Munster and Papenhausen. We can't even out razzle dazzle the Knights. What we will do is fight for every blade of grass right up until the final whistle is blown. No quarter is given. We are going to smash you until your knees buckle and your lungs burn. Suck it up.

As you said, it takes time and the Dogs better hope the board doesn't get thrown out before they get enough "Character" into that team. They will sack Gus and Ciraldo and start it all again.

I must admit as I sat there watching the superstar get told he had failed, I thought I was doomed. But, yes I did pass and went on to serve for four years in airborne forces. Ahh, those were the days. No grey hairs then!
My daughter is in the army, currently posted in Darwin. I couldn't do military training

To your credit.

Is it any wonder in this woke world we live in, the services or armed forces are struggling to maintain adequate recruitment levels.

Very well said. It took four years for Panthers to make finals and 10 to learn that character through a mixture of development and experience in first grade including a gf loss.

I would hope, out of respect for those that set the standards by their service, those standards are never dropped.

I’m sure the quality of the men and women who serve our country have never dropped rather the support (or lack there of) from our leaders, our politicians and extreme left leave a lot to be desired. I’d be more than happy if the 1.1 billion spent per year on our national broadcaster the ABC was spent instead on defence.

Great!!

obviously a bit unfair on the dolphins, but what struck me is that how close they are to the Dogs after just one season. Geez the dogs have been pus…
Theyve only played 24 games, if you have them playing the 92 games like every other team had played then youd see them probably mid range... need to work out the win percentages for each team to see the real table, not this rubbish calculation of wins and byes, its always going to look shit, since they haven't played more than one season

Chins get the wins

I imagine he will have protection from Laundy , Gus might have to tread on eggshells for a change.
Gus is a survivor, he has been around this game for a long time as a coach, general manager and in the media.

He‘ll be around for a while yet, he hasn’t brought instant success to the Dogs and given this seasons results success May yet be a few years away. If at all.

Gus is a smart cookie, he knows his stuff, I would be surprised if he doesn’t turn the Dogs fortunes around it’s just not gonna happen in 2024.

As a "leftie" I also hate the idiotic extreme left as much as I hate the extreme right. The global media is pretty f**ked with how they try to force normal people to be enemies.
I guess am I in the middle, a conservative if you like.

After the Soni Luke pages of disagreement, probably best not to start a debate on the media treatment of our service men and women in Afghanistan and other war zones from recent times.

There are brainwashed believers, and there are the cynical.
The "blank piece of paper" must have water smudges on it, unable to read what is going to happen.
